Sanctification simply means the action or process of being freed from every impurity, ungodliness, and sin, thereby making one to be holy Exo. 19:11-12.

The Cost of Ungodliness.

Ungodliness is at a great cost; the ignorance of this is why people still patronize it Isa. 1:18. What are some of the dare costs of ungodly practices and lifestyle?

  1. It blocks access to help in times of trouble.

God is the guaranteed source of help in times of trouble Psa. 46:1-3; 33:18-19; 23:4. Whatever is the trouble, God’s help assures of overcoming, and ending with greatness 1Chr. 12:17-18,22; Isa. 38:1-5. Ungodliness disconnects from the help of God, renders an individual helpless, and makes him a victim of the trouble Isa. 59:1-2.

  1. It destroys destiny.

Sin is destructive in nature, it destroys wherever is found; nation, community, organization, individual etc. Pro. 7:24-27; Psa. 1:6. In scriptures, we saw how it destroyed the two countries of Sodom and Gomorrah Gen. 18:20; 19:24-25,28; Gehazi, a potential prophet with minimum 4-times the anointing on Elijah 2Kgs. 5:20-27; Herod the king Acts 12:21-24.

  1. It blocks access to divine secrets.

God has secrets, and they are the makers of giants on the earth Deu. 29:29; Pro. 25:2. Sin will deny access to the secrets of God, thereby leaving the individual to struggle through life, and robs him of the destiny of greatness Psa. 25:14; Ecc. 10:15. In scriptures, we have the example of Daniel Dan. 1:8; 2:19,20,46.

The answer to sin:

  1. Don’t cover it 28:13.
  2. Don’t put up blind eyes to it.

In essence, don’t deny it, or behave as if it is not there 1Jn. 1:8.

  • Repent of it.

In essence, acknowledge it, confess to God, and ask for His forgiveness 1Jn. 3:9-10. God never hold our past against us, but He writes them off when we truly repent Ezk. 18:20-24.

Benefits of Sanctification.

  1. It secures access to all of our inheritances in Christ.

New birth brings the believer into all the blessings that life need Eph. 1:3; 2Pet. 1:3-4. The only thing is that access to them is by sanctification Acts 20:32; Oba. 17.

  1. It enhances answer to our prayers.

Prayer is the believer’s platform for one-on-one interaction with God, which guarantees supernatural turnaround Isa. 1:18; Lk. 9:28-35. Sanctification is the facilitator of this interaction Psa. 66:18-19; Isa. 38:5.

  1. It procures divine health.

Sin brought sickness and disease, sanctification will restore health and wholeness Rms. 5:12. Often, after healing, Jesus tells the individuals sin no more so that the sickness does not return Jn. 5:1-8,14; Mk. 2:1-12.

Pathways to Sanctification.

  1. We must purpose to live a sanctified life.

The starting point for sanctified life is to believe that it is possible, and make the choice for it Dan. 1:8; 6:5,28.

  1. We must watch and pray to stay sanctified.

The prayer altar is the platform of generating fire, which results into the burning off everything that defiles and the impurities 1Kgs. 18:37-39; Mat. 17:19-21. This is not prayer for bread and butter, but kingdom advancement prayer Mat. 6:9-10,13.

  1. We must continue to engage the cleansing power of the word.

God’s word is the spiritual water that washes off all filths Eph. 5:26; Jn. 15:3; Psa. 119:9-11. Everyone that desires the life of sanctification must commit to the lifestyle of word study and meditation.

  1. We must keep building our faith for sanctification.

Everything in the kingdom demands faith for its actualization, including a sanctified life Mk. 9:23; Heb. 11:6. In essence, the believer must build his faith for him to be able to overcome sin and live a sanctified life Rms. 10:17; Eph. 6:16.

In conclusion, when sin is gotten rid of, signs will begin to flow. When righteousness is in place, glory becomes the natural experience Exo. 15:11. It is time to commit to the life of sanctification, because tour hour of glory has come!

To anyone reading this that will love to give his/her life to Christ, pray this prayer out loud with me from your heart: “Lord Jesus, I surrender my life to you today. Forgive me my sins; wash me with your blood. I believe you died for me, on the third day you rose again that I may be justified. Right now, I believe that my sins are forgiven; I’m justified by your blood; I’m born-again; I’m saved; I’m a child of God; I’m free from the power of sin to serve the living God. Thank you Jesus for receiving me; thank you Jesus for restoring me; thank you Jesus for

Prayer.

  1. Father, in the name of Jesus, I believe in the possibility of the life of sanctification and I make my choice for it now 30:19.
  2. Father, in the name of Jesus, consume me with your fire and cause everything that defiles to be burnt off in my life 12:29.
  3. Father in the name of Jesus, I receive the grace to walk in the pathway of sanctification from today and the rest of my life 15:10.
