Sanctification is possible; others in the past have lived in its reality, anyone can make it happen again Ecc. 1:9. Examples are Joseph (Gen. 39:1-9), Daniel (Dan. 1:6-8). Paul the apostle (1Ths. 2:10), What we need is to find out the path they walked in that made them achieve sanctified life (Jer. 6:16; Heb. 6:12). Sanctification is a non-negotiable requirement for a glorious life on earth and to make heaven (Exo. 15:11; Gal. 5:19-21; 1Jn. 3:1-3).
Pathways to Sanctification.
These are some of the scriptural requirements for a sanctified life.
- Engage the Power of the Blood.
This is the last card of God, which Satan has no answer for, with the power to purge every sin (Heb. 9:14). When the blood is invoked against any force of sin, it is crushed (Zch. 9:11-12; Rev. 12:11).
- Fellowship with the Saints.
Wherever the saints gather for fellowship and to worship God is known in the Old Testament as Zion; it is known for deliverance and strength (Oba. 1:17; Psa. 84:7). The more believers are committed to fellowship with understanding, the freer they are from sin (Heb. 3:13; 10:25).
- Engage the Name of Jesus.
Everything bows and obeys when the name of Jesus is invoked (Php. 2:9-11; Lk. 10:17). When a believer invokes Jesus’ name against any sin, he has created a tower for himself against every sin (Pro. 18:10).
- Flee from All Traps of Evil.
The best way to sanctification is to flee at every appearance of evil (1Cor. 6:18; 1Ths. 5:22; 1Tim. 6:10-12).
Cost of Ungodliness.
The practice of sin and ungodly life is costly! Some of the costs include:
- Blocks Access to Supernatural Breakthrough.
We live in a world full of oppositions and obstacles; this makes breakthrough vital to keep making progress (1Cor. 16:9). Breakthrough is by God’s power, which ungodliness blocks, preventing access to breakthrough, thereby keeping the person on the same level (Pro. 1:23; Isa. 60:1-3).
- Blocks Access to Divine Wisdom.
Wisdom makes stars; it empowers mere individuals to rise and shine (Dan. 1:8,17,20; 6:1-4; 12:3). Ungodliness blocks access to wisdom, causing victims to keep struggling on the floor in life (Pro. 9:10).
- Stirs Shame and Reproach.
The life of ungodliness and sin always stirs shame and reproach in victims’ lives (Jdg. 16:23-25; Pro. 14:34). Sin has nothing good to offer other than to ruin. Do away with it now!
- Blocks Access to Eternity with Christ.
Life after the earth is true and real; there are only two options – with or without Christ (Mat. 7:22-23). Sin blocks access to eternity with Christ throwing an individual into eternity without Christ where there is eternal pain, suffering, and death (1Cor.6:9-11; Rev. 21:8).
Understand the Place of the Mind in Gaining Victory Over Sin.
The mind is the battlefield against sin, where victory or defeat is registered before manifestation in reality (2Cor. 10:3-5). This means that the mind is central in the struggle for sanctification, and understanding how to engage the mind to achieve this victory over sin is essential for a sanctified life (Ecc. 10:15).
How to Win the Battle in the Mind?
- See Yourself As Able and Victorious Over Sin.
What we see with our mind determines what happens in reality (Gen. 13:14-15; Num. 13:30-33; 14:6-10,28).
- Engage the Power of the Blood.
The blood has the power to purge the mind and conscience of every filth and evil seed, thereby preventing it from germinating to produce fruits (Rev. 12:11).
- Be Resilient in Your Strive for Sanctification.
Don’t give up in the strive for sanctification until your victory over sin is complete (Gal. 6:9).
Conclusion.
If God says “Be holy,” then He has empowered us to be (1Pet. 1:15-16; Jdg. 6:14). We only need to accept the responsibility, and sanctification will become our reality.
Declare the following boldly over your life:
- I AM VICTORIOUS OVER SIN FROM TODAY!
- I AM WALKING IN DOMINION OVER SIN FROM NOW!
- SIN LOSES ITS POWER OVER MY LIFE HENCEFORTH!
- MY WALK IN SANCTIFICATIN SHALL BE UNDENIABLE FROM TODAY!
Salvation Prayer.
To anyone reading this who desires to give their life to Christ, pray this prayer out loud with me from your heart:
“Lord Jesus, I surrender my life to you today. Forgive me my sins; wash me with your blood. I believe you died for me; on the third day you rose again that I may be justified. Right now, I believe that my sins are forgiven; I’m justified by your blood; I’m born-again; I’m saved; I’m a child of God; I’m free from the power of sin to serve the living God. Thank you, Jesus, for receiving me; thank you Jesus for restoring me; thank you Jesus for saving me. Amen!”
Prayer.
Father, I receive the empowerment of the Holy Spirit for the life of sanctification, thereby giving me access to God’s blessing Rms. 8:2

Sanctification is a commandment of scripture to every believer 1Ths. 4:3,7. God will not demand from us what He has not endowed with grace or empowered us for Jdg. 6:14; 1Jn. 5:3. This means that sanctification is a choice not a gift Deu. 30:19; Mat. 5:6. The sanctified life will remain an impossibility without faith […]
The resurrection of Christ from the dead was by the act of God through the operation of the exceeding greatness of His power Col. 2:12-15; Rms. 8:11. Resurrection therefore can be said to be the hiding place of God’s exceeding great power Eph. 1:19-20. Our God has a nature of repeating His act again and […]
Outstanding success is the birthright of every believer Deu. 28:13; Mat. 5:13-14. Just like a baby-elephant carries the genes of ‘bigness’, so, every believer carries the genes of success. The baby-elephant must be subjected to the demands that make the big size actualized. Thus, every believer who will actualize his heritage of outstanding success must […]
Success is not by luck; it is by covenant that operates by the laws of success Jos. 1:8. We serve a covenant keeping God, not a Father Christmas God Psa. 89:34; Mat. 20:1-9. This means that anyone can dare to succeed, simply by understanding and committing to the laws. Illustration: There was an African-American athlete […]
