We understand from scriptures that the natural was made out of the supernatural or the unseen realm Heb. 11:3. This is why the supernatural is ever superior and in control of the natural realm any time, any day. When an individual gains command of the supernatural, he controls the natural naturally Jn. 3:31. The good news is that new birth brings the believer in command of the supernatural Jn. 3:6-8; Isa. 8:18. But it takes training through acquisition of the knowledge of the keys and the skill needed for engaging the keys to take command of the supernatural in reality Mat. 16:19.

A Vital Key for Commanding the Supernatural.

  1. Operating in the supernatural through thanksgiving.

The scriptures show us that at the root of the life of signs and wonders exhibited by Jesus on the earth was a commitment to thanksgiving and praise as a lifestyle Acts 2:22; 10:38. How do I know? A fundamental requirement to command God’s presence is thanksgiving and praise; if the signs and wonders were a product of God being with Jesus, it therefore means thanksgiving and praise was Jesus’ lifestyle Psa. 22:3. Also, the most outstanding miracles in His ministry were by thanksgiving; the feeding of 5,000 Jn. 6:6-12; and the raising of Lazarus from death Jn. 11:41-42.

How Does Thanksgiving Works to Deliver the Supernatural?

  1. Genuine thanksgiving usually graduates into praise.

In essence, genuine thanksgiving will move the believer into the realm of praise Psa. 92:1-2.

  1. Praise moves God to do fearful things.

Remember, every time God is moved to do things, what makes men to marvel are the outcome always Psa. 118:23. Specifically, praise moves God to do fearful things Exo. 15:11; Psa. 22:3; 92:1-2,10-15.

  1. Thanksgiving is the will of God that empowers for delivery of God’s promises.

In essence, when the believer engages in thanksgiving, God is moved to deliver what He has promised 1Ths. 5:18; Heb. 10:36. We must note that this has to be done in faith and patience Heb. 10:36.

Essential Understanding about Thanksgiving to make it Deliver the Supernatural.

  1. i) Thanksgiving is ordained to be a lifestyle, not an item in church or fellowship program.

This is when the supernatural will become the natural realm of the believer Eph. 5:20; 1Ths. 5:18. The believer needs to develop or train himself to this new lifestyle, which is in contrast to the natural lifestyle of complaining and murmuring.

  1. ii) Thanksgiving must be from the heart.

Only when thanksgiving is done from the heart that it becomes effectual Isa. 29:13; Mal. 2:1-3.

  • iii) Thanksgiving demands the believer to rejoice in the Lord always.

This is the only way to make thanksgiving to deliver maximum effect 1Ths. 5:16; Php. 4:4; Hab. 3:17-19. Thanksgiving will be merely a noise when it is not coming from a merry heart Jms. 5:13; Ams. 5:23.

In conclusion, I consider thanksgiving as the demand that makes the supernatural cheap and accessible to all. Therefore, you don’t have any reason to struggle again in life, if you will adopt this lifestyle of thanksgiving and praise from now.

To anyone reading this who would love to give his/her life to Christ, pray this prayer out loud with me from your heart: “Lord Jesus, I surrender my life to you today. Forgive me my sins; wash me with your blood. I believe you died for me; on the third day you rose again that I may be justified. Right now, I believe that my sins are forgiven; I’m justified by your blood; I’m born-again; I’m saved; I’m a child of God; I’m free from the power of sin to serve the living God. Thank you, Jesus, for receiving me; thank you Jesus for restoring me; thank you Jesus for saving me. Amen!”

Prayer.

Father in the name of Jesus, I make the choice for the lifestyle of joy, thanksgiving, and praise from today, I receive the empowerment of the Holy Spirit for it now Isa. 61:1,3.1
