We serve the God who instructs; He does not merely give advice or admonition but commands Isa. 55:10. Every word of God is a command; the bible is a compendium of God’s commandments Jos. 1:8; Psa. 19:7-8. The good news is that every commandment of God is for the profit of man when obeyed Due. 28:1-2. One of God’s vital commandments to believers is prayer and fasting Mat. 6:7,17-18; Mk. 2:20; Lk. 5:25. Understanding the benefits of prayer and fasting will empower believers for effective engagement in the upcoming 21-day prayer and fasting.

Seven Fundamental Spiritual Blessings of Prayer and Fasting.

  1. Spiritual renewal.

Spiritual renewal involves a deliberate effort to draw closer to God by shedding old ways and adopt a renewed mindset in alignment with Him. This is a core return from the altar of prayer and fasting Isa. 40:31; 58:6-10.

  1. Spiritual empowerment.

Power is a major outcome from the altar of prayer and fasting Psa. 63:1-2. Spiritual empowerment enables believers to destroy every yoke of the wicked, and silence the enemy Psa. 66:3; Lk. 10:1-2,17-19.

  1. Outbreak of revelation.

Revelation is spiritual understanding of God’s word, imparting the ability to correctly apply the word to achieve desired results Jn. 6:6-11. This understanding, also called light, empowers believers to disarm darkness and shine in life Jn. 1:5; Isa. 60:1-2. Revelation is a core product of altar of prayer and fasting Isa. 58:8-10.

  1. Health, strength, and vigor.

When the word of God gains access into a man, it results in flourishing health, strength and vitality Psa. 107:20; Pro. 4:20-22; Lk. 5:17. Encountering God’s word is a major benefit of prayer and fasting altar, leading to supernatural springing up of health Isa. 58:8.

In conclusion, while the altar of prayer and fasting places great demands on is, the benefits fat outweigh these demands. It is an excellent way to start the year, setting the right course for our lives. This shall be a year to remember!

Forgive me my sins; wash me with your blood. I believe you died for me, on the third day you rose again that I may be justified. Right now, I believe that my sins are forgiven; I’m justified by your blood; I’m born-again; I’m saved; I’m a child of God; I’m free from the power of sin to serve the living God. Thank you, Jesus, for receiving me; thank you Jesus for restoring me; thank you Jesus for saving me. Amen!”

  1. Father, in the name of Jesus, empower me by the Holy Spirit for the 21-day of prayer and fasting, thereby making it a most profitable exercise for me 4:1-2.
  2. Father, in the name of Jesus, I am returning from the annual 21-day prayer and fasting after the order of Jesus, in the power of the Spirit 4:14.
