Our focus today under the above teaching series is: FINANCIAL FORTUNE FLOWS THROUGH THREE MAJOR CHANNELS.
The struggles of believers are largely due to ignorance Hos. 4:6; Ecc. 10:15. For instance, there are 3 major channels through which finances flow into believers’ lives, understanding them is vital to experience riches Pro. 21:16; Psa. 119:144.
The 3 Channels of Financial Flow.
- Our Thoughts.
Nothing defines destiny and experience like mentality Pro. 23:7. It can never become a reality in believer’s life, unless it passes through the mind Phm. 14. Believers must embrace fortune in their mind to qualify for the experience in reality Pro. 4:20-23. Therefore, our prosperity is tied to our thoughts 3Jn. 2; Jer. 1:9-10. The believer must renew his mind to experience a transformation in his finance Rms. 12:1-2; Php. 4:8.
- The Words of our Mouth.
What we say determine our experience eventually Num. 14:28; 13:20-33; Mk. 11:23. Therefore, financial fortune is tied to the words of our mouth Pro. 18:21; 13:2. This demands the following:
i) Beware of murmuring and complaining, they are destroyers 11:1; Psa. 20:5; 1Cor. 10:10.
ii) Beware of idle words, God is not a joker 5:6; Mat. 12:34-26.
iii) Give thanks always, it keeps God’s blessing flowing 65:5-7; Heb. 13:15.
iv) Fill your heart with right information, so that the mouth will freely speak right words 3:16; Mat. 12:34.
3. The Works of our Hands.
The works of our hands is what God bless; when one Is not working, God has nothing to bless Psa. 1:1-3; Job 1:8-9. Also, if one is not working, he will not have what to sow, hence no harvest, so he remains poor Eph. 4:28. Slothfulness is a curse, it causes decadence, which ends in poverty Pro. 12:24; 13:4; 20:4. Believers must be productively engaged to escape the curse of poverty, and enjoy financial fortune Pro. 14:23; Ecc. 9:10; Mat. 20:1-9.
Enemies of Financial Fortune.
We must beware of certain things that are enemies of fortune. They might appear as insignificant, but are capable of denying us of financial fortune SOS 2:15.
Enemies of Financial Fortune.
- Money Worship.
A person is either worshipping God or money; whoever one worship has power of control over that life Rms. 6:16; Mat. 6:21-24. To prosper financially, scripture instructs us not to worship money Exo. 20:23; 32:31. Anyone who worships money ends in sorrow Psa. 16:4. The way out is to commit to worship God with your money, by becoming generous in promoting God’s kingdom with your resources 1Chr. 29:3-14.
- Wastefulness.
A wasteful person is in the same class as the slothful, and their end is poverty Pro. 18:9; 6:9-11. The younger brother in the story of ‘the prodigal son’ is a clear example of this Lk. 15:13-15. We must be prudent and discrete in the use of the finance and material blessings in order to qualify for wealth Pro. 21:20.
- Covetousness.
Covetousness is a strong and often excessive desire for things, especially possession or status of others. It is having wrong priority, which is a great enemy of a glorious destiny Lk. 12:15. Covetousness is a cancer that kills great destinies, and robs of true riches 2Kgs. 5:20-27; Jos. 7:11-28. The solution is the choice for contentment 1Tim. 6:1-10.
- Lack of Financial Integrity.
Lack of integrity in finance or financial impropriety digs a grave financially, and may send to an early grave physically Jer. 17:10-11; Zch. 5:1-4. Financial fortune is entrusted; God places it in the hand of who He trusts Lk. 16:11-12.
- Nonchalant Attitude for Kingdom-Promotion Opportunities.
Financial fortune is primarily for promoting and building God’s kingdom on the earth Hag. 1:5-11; Exo. 35:4,20-22. A believer who desires financial fortune must commit to building and promoting God’s kingdom with his resources 2Cor. 8:12.
Conclusion.
Every believer is ordained to enjoy financial fortune. Only those who will give themselves to the responsibility of covenant practice that will enjoy it in realty Jer. 33:20-21.
Salvation Prayer.
To anyone reading this who desires to give their life to Christ, pray this prayer out loud with me from your heart:
“Lord Jesus, I surrender my life to you today. Forgive me my sins; wash me with your blood. I believe you died for me; on the third day you rose again that I may be justified. Right now, I believe that my sins are forgiven; I’m justified by your blood; I’m born-again; I’m saved; I’m a child of God; I’m free from the power of sin to serve the living God. Thank you, Jesus, for receiving me; thank you Jesus for restoring me; thank you Jesus for saving me. Amen!”
Prayer.
- Father, I receive the grace to respond to the covenant demands for financial fortune as shown to me now Gen. 17:1-2.
