We have established from scriptures that the covenant is the guaranteed access to kingdom wealth (Deu. 8:18; Jer. 33:20-21). The covenant is not what we pray or fast, but practice to enjoy the benefits (Gen. 17:1-2). A sound understanding of the covenant therefore, is vital for qualitative practice of the covenant resulting in a life of great profit (Pro. 13:15).

What is a Covenant?

  1. The covenant is a deal enacted by God based on well-defined terms, and sealed with an oath (Heb. 6:12-16).
  2. The covenant is God’s platform for empowering His children for wealth and bailout from harsh economic situations (Psa. 33:18-19).

The covenant of wealth operates by a law, the law of seed time and harvest, which simply means giving and receiving (Gen. 8:22; Lk. 6:38). The covenant of wealth flourishes by commitment to serving God and the interests of His kingdom (Job 36:11; Psa. 35:27; Mat. 6:33). The covenant of wealth answers with God’s blessing, which is the power that brings wealth (Deu. 8:18; Pro. 10:22). Therefore, an understanding of the ways God blesses in return for covenant practice is vital for believers to enjoy fortune (Pro 13:15).

How Does God Bless?

  1. Through Divine Direction.

Divine direction shows the believer the path to access his portion of the profit of the earth (Ecc. 5:9; Isa. 48:17,21). A scriptural example is Abraham; He kept following God’s guidance until he was turned from abject poverty into a person blessed in all things (Gen. 12:1-4; 24:1). As we practice the covenant, watch out for guidance from God, because that is one way He will bless you to change your story.

  1. Through the Works of Our Hands.

The practice of the covenant moves God to make the work of our hands flourish beyond human understanding, theories, and scientific explanation (Psa. 1:3; 90:17). A scriptural example is Isaac; he sowed in drought and reaped a hundredfold same year, which brought him into wealth and greatness beyond every explanation of human and scientific reasoning (Gen. 26:1-4,12-14). Every covenant practitioner must have a legitimate work; it is one vital avenue through which God blesses in return for covenant practice.

  1. Through the Rain of Divine Ideas.

An idea is mental concept, thought, or image formulated in the mind; it is the secret to the making of great individuals (Pro. 23:7; Phm. 1:14). One idea from God is enough to turn a person into phenomenal prosperity and success; interestingly, it is one of the ways God blesses in return for covenant practice (Isa. 55:9). A scriptural example is Jacob; whom his uncle planned to keep in servitude forever, but divine ideas turned him into greatness (Gen. 30:30-33,37-43). This implies that we should not make light of ideas; it is God responding to bless us for our covenant practice, and our response to those ideas will result in our fortune.

  1. Through Divine Favor.

Favor is a spiritual force that makes people delight in giving and doing things for an individual without asking or begging (Exo. 3:21; Psa. 443). This is one of the ways God blesses those who practice the covenant. A scriptural example is Joseph; he enjoyed divine favor to the extent that he prospered both as a slave and prisoner until he ascended the throne (Gen. 39:1-5,21-22; 41:38-44). Expect as you walk in the covenant, people will begin to do things for you and give you things. You don’t have to beg or borrow, walk in the covenant so that things come to you.

  1. Through Priestly Blessing.

Another way God blesses in response to covenant practice is pronouncement by His servant on the life of the practitioner of the covenant (Gen. 14:18-20). When such pronouncement is made, God is invoked to perform every word in the life of the individual resulting in his prosperity (Isa. 44:26; 2Chr. 20:20).

Conclusion.

The covenant is so sure that God says, only when the exchange of day and night can be altered is the covenant permitted to fail (Jer. 33:20-21). It is not too late, start now and remain committed to covenant practice to enforce your change of story.

Salvation Prayer.

To anyone reading this who desires to give their life to Christ, pray this prayer out loud with me from your heart:

“Lord Jesus, I surrender my life to you today. Forgive me my sins; wash me with your blood. I believe you died for me; on the third day you rose again that I may be justified. Right now, I believe that my sins are forgiven; I’m justified by your blood; I’m born-again; I’m saved; I’m a child of God; I’m free from the power of sin to serve the living God. Thank you, Jesus, for receiving me; thank you Jesus for restoring me; thank you Jesus for saving me. Amen!”

Prayer.

  1. Father, I choose to pursue financial fortune, and I receive the grace for covenant responsibility to make it a reality in my life (1Cor. 15:10).
