WHO IS ON THE LORD’S SIDE 140124 PT. 2?

We have established from scriptures that there are basically two (2) sides in life, and every man belongs to one of the sides per time. We identified the two (2) sides as; the world side and God’s side Jms. 4:4; 1Jn. 2:15-17. God’s side is the ever-winning side of life Isa. 64:1-3, 2Cor. 2:14. God’s side is the laughter side of life Psa. 2:1-8; 126:1-3. Gods’ side is the side of light because God is light, and this makes everyone on God’s side to be free from the powers of darkness in life 1Jn. 1:5; Jn. 1:1-5,9; Lk. 22:53.

Scriptural Example of the Story of Men on God’s Side.

Moses was more of a failure and exiled at forty (40) years Exo. 2:11-15. But God met with him at eighty (80), and he made the decision to remain on God’s side Exo. 3:7-10. By this decision, he emerged a most renowned prophet of all times, and was made a god to Pharaoh while he dominated Egypt supernaturally Exo. 7:1; Deu. 34:7,10-12.

Nehemiah was a captive turned into a cupbearer in the palace Neh. 1:1-3; 2:1-2. He maintained his place on God’s side even in the foreign land, and he emerged a governor supernaturally Neh. 2:3-9; 5:14.

How to Remain on God’s Side.

  1. Stay in love and keep your love for God growing.

Love is what identifies those that are truly on God’s side, because the love of God makes the believer to be one with God 1Jn. 4:16-18; Eph. 3:17-19; Jn. 13:34-35. Love for God makes all things in life to begin to work in the believer’s favor Rms. 8:28. Love for God is validated by interest in what matters to God; like His word Psa. 138:2; His house Psa. 84:1-2; the souls of man Jn. 3:16.

  1. Beware of disobedience.

One common thing in the life of all that got disconnected from God in scriptures is disobedience. Examples of such men are; Adam and Eve Gen. 3:17-23-24; Saul 1Sam. 5:21-23; lots of disciples of Christ Jn. 6:60,66. Everyone whose choice is to remain on God’s side must commit to the walk of obedience with God Acts 13:21-22; Jn. 14:23.

  1. Beware of sexual perversion.

Sexual perversion refers to every form of sexual engagement that is contrary to what the scriptures approve, and the only one approved in scriptures is between a man and woman joined by God in marriage Mat. 19:4-6; 1Cor. 7:2-4. Sexual perversion will disconnect any man from God’s side, as we saw with Solomon 1Kgs. 11:1-11,14,23; 1Cor. 10:8.

  1. Righteousness consciousness.

Righteousness consciousness is about an undying crave for sanctification and continuous exercise unto godliness 1Tim. 4:7-8. This is fundamental to remaining on God’s side, and particularly to make it to heaven at the end of the day 2Cor. 5:21; 2Tim. 2:19-21.

Dangers of not being on God’s Side.

  1. It blocks access to wisdom that enthrones.

God is the all wise, being on His side connects us to the flow of His wisdom through us 1Tim. 1:17; Pro. 13:20. In essence, to disconnect from God’s side is to be blocked form access to the flow of His wisdom Psa. 111:10. Wisdom enthrones, when our access to wisdom is blocked, we risk losing our throne.

  1. It causes faith to fail.

The presence of God which is guaranteed when one is on God’s side is a booster of faith Psa. 23:4; Acts 14:8-11. In essence, when the believer fall off from God’s side, his faith become weak and begins to fail 1Tim. 1:19; 2Tim. 4:1-2.

  1. It inflicts incurable diseases.

A disconnection from God’s side exposes the believer to all the forces of darkness, principal are the forces of sicknesses and diseases. We saw this happen in the case of king Asa who had a great walk with God for twenty (20) years, but fell off and died of incurable disease 2Chr. 16:10-13.

In conclusion, every man has the responsibility of the choice or decision of the side he will belong in life Deu. 30:19. Being on God’s side is not by wishing, it is by a conscious choice, which will be validated by embracing the demands that go with it.

To anyone reading this that will love to give his/her life to Christ, pray this prayer out loud with me from your heart: “Lord Jesus, I surrender my life to you today. Forgive me my sins; wash me with your blood. I believe you died for me, on the third day you rose again that I may be justified. Right now, I believe that my sins are forgiven; I’m justified by your blood; I’m born-again; I’m saved; I’m a child of God; I’m free from the power of sin to serve the living God. Thank you Jesus for receiving me; thank you Jesus for restoring me; thank you Jesus for

Prayer.

  1. Father in the name of Jesus, I choose God’s side in my life, and to remain there for life 24:15.
  2. Father in the name of Jesus, deliver me by the power of your Spirit from whatever that contends with my choice to remain on God’s side 10:27.
