The bible shows us there are two sides of life, every man on the earth belong to one of these two sides per time. The two sides are; the world and God’s side Jms. 4:4; 1Jn. 2:15-17. The scriptures show further that being on the Lord’s side is the guarantee for an enviable life Rms. 8:31. Heaven is God’s throne, when one is on God’s side; he is only permitted to have heavenly experiences Isa. 66:1. In essence, being on God’s side brings the believer into heaven on earth order of life Eph. 2:6; 1:21-22. One of the features in heaven is no defeat, therefore when one is on God’s side, no more defeat no matter how bitter the battle may be Rev. 12:7-12 ; Psa. 24:7-8.

Scriptural Example of Men on God’s Side.

1. Adam and Eve

They were living wonders while they were on God’s side in the Garden of Eden Gen. 2:15-17. When they lost face with God through sin, they were driven out off the garden into the wilderness Gen. 3:1-10,17-19,24.

Abraham was an epitome of failure at 75, he met with God and chose to stay on God’s side, his life turned around suddenly Gen. 12:1-4; 13:1-2. He remained on God’s side for a hundred years, and he lived as it were in a kind of garden of Eden all through Gen. 22:16-19; 24:1; 25:7-8; Isa. 51:1-3; Gal. 3:13-14,29.

How to Remain on God’s Side.

1. Beware of lusting after evil things.

To ‘lust after’ means to want something at all cost. It also means to be willing to do anything to get one’s desire. In essence, to lust after evil things will mean the desire to get things, whether it will demand of one to do things that are ungodly and evil Pro. 28:20; 1Tim. 6:9; Jms. 1:14-16. God’s nature is zero-tolerant to evil and sin Hab. 1:12-13; 1Cor. 10:6. Therefore, to lust after evil things will make a man to be disconnected from God. Lust for evil things cut a man off from God’s side.

1. Beware of idolatry.

Idolatry means the worship of idols; or extreme admiration, love or reverence for something or someone. Whatever that an individual loves, reverence, or admire in extreme is the god over his life, when it is not the almighty, then it is an idol 1Cor. 10:7. God’s nature is that, He is either the only one in a man’s life, or He will leave the man’s life Mat. 6:33. When there is anything that competes or shares the heart or worship of a man with God makes the individual an idolater. God hates this and will cut the individual off God’s side Exo. 32:26-28; 20:4-5.

• Be righteousness conscious.

Righteousness means undying craving for sanctification that makes the believer to pursue after being more like God (godliness). This is the fundamental requirement for remaining on God’s side 2Tim. 2:19-21; 2Cor. 5:21. It is the key to make it to heaven at the end of the day Heb. 12:14.

Dangers of not being on God’s Side.

1. It blocks access to answered prayers.

When one is not on God’s side, every effort in prayer is a month Psa. 66:18; Isa. 59:1-2.

2. It blocks access to revelation.

Revelation is the spiritual understanding of God’s word, this is not possible when one is disconnected from God 1Cor. 2:10-14; Psa. 25:14; Gen. 41:38-44; 42:18.

3. It dethrones a believer.

Every believer is ordained for the throne in life Rev. 5:9-10. A disconnection from God will deny the believer access to the throne ordained for him, or dethrone the believer from the throne, in case he has ascended it like the case of king Saul 1Sam. 15:23.

In conclusion, the way to be restores on God’s side is genuine repentance of one’s sin 2Cor. 7:1,10-11. We must avoid coming on God’s side today, and falling away tomorrow; the blessing of God is only for those who sticks with God Psa. 92:12-15; Lk. 9:62; 1Cor. 15:58.
