The scriptures make it clear that the church of the last days is ordained to walk in dominion Psa. 110:1-3; Dan. 7:25-27. Dominion connotes having charge over oppositions and the forces of life. A prominent area that the church will walk in dominion is in health, over sicknesses, diseases and afflictions Deu. 7:15; Isa. 33:24. But access to every of our rights in the kingdom is a function of understanding Psa. 119:144; Pro. 4:7-8. In essence, to walk in dominion over sickness and disease demands that believers understand the cause of sickness and our weapons of dominion.

Spirit Behind Sickness and Disease.

Often, the root cause of sickness is a spirit, and victory can only be by a spiritual approach. What are some of the spirits that causes sickness and disease?

1. Unclean spirit.

There are demonic spirits identified in scriptures as unclean spirit. They influence men to do unclean things, which results into sickness and disease Mat. 8:11-12; 10:1-2. For instance, it is boldly written on a cigarette pack that smoking is liable to cause tuberculosis yet men will go ahead to smoke. This is an unclean spirit moving the man to do what he knows is injurious to his body.

1. The spirit of insanity.

This is a foul spirit that influence men to do things that are not logical and out of sense, which makes the individual appear as out of his mind Mk. 5:2-15; Acts 10:38.

Our Weapons for Dominion over Sickness.

One vital weapon for the believer’s dominion over sickness and disease is the communion Mat. 26:26-28. It empowers the believer to live like Christ; spirit, soul and body Jn. 6:53-54,57; Lev. 17:11. It is a kingdom toast for strength, health and longevity 1Cor. 11:29-30. The communion is the New Testament food that God gave to the believer to sustain him in health; the way He gave Adam what to eat to remain strong and healthy at the beginning Gen. 2:15-17; Jn. 6:55-58; Rms. 8:19-22.

How the Holy Communion Empowers for Dominion over Sickness and Disease.

The Holy Communion is made up of two things; the bread which is the flesh of Jesus, and the drink which is the blood of Jesus Mat. 26:26-30; Jn. 6:48-58.

What is in the flesh of Jesus (The Bread) that Makes it to Heal?

1. The bread can be likened to the Rod of God that swallows up all the rods of the magicians in our body.

When the magicians of Egypt challenged Moses by dropping their rods, the rod of Moses turned snake swallowed the rods of the magicians that has also turned to snakes Exo. 7:10-12. Jesus is our rod now, His flesh will swallow any rod of the wicked stretched on our body as sickness or disease Isa. 11:1.

• The flesh represents the ‘miracle meal’ that neutralizes all forms of poison in the body, to set us free from their negative impacts.

Remember, the Old Testament is a shadow of what is to come, the New Testament Col 2:16-17. Hence, the ‘miracle meal’ that Elisha used was a shadow of the flesh of the communion, which is to come 2Kgs. 4:39-41.

• The bread is the New Testament manna that destroys all forms of weakness and feebleness.

When the Israelite ate manna in the wilderness, for the forty years none of them was feeble or sick Deu. 8:3; Psa. 105:37. The bible calls manna the bread from heaven and that is what the flesh in the communion is also called Jn. 6:48-51.

• The flesh has the power of eye-opening miracle embedded in it.

After resurrection, Jesus served the ‘bread’ to some of His disciples at Emmaus and their eyes were opened Lk. 24:30-31. This opening of the eyes can be both physically and spiritually; the spiritual opening of the believer’s eyes is his access to all the blessings of the kingdom Psa. 119:18; Gen. 13:14-15.

What is in the Blood (the Drink) that makes it to Heal?

1. In the blood is the nature of Christ, which is immune to sickness and disease.

In the blood is the life of the flesh Lev. 17:11. Hence, the blood of Jesus we drink in the communion bears the divine life of Christ in it, which makes the believer live above sickness Jn. 6:54; Php. 2:9-11.

• Through the blood in the Holy Communion, we share same blood group with Christ, which empowers over sickness and disease.

The blood group of an individual goes a long way to define his health. The blood group of Jesus blood is sickness and disease-free, when we partake of it in the communion, we are enabled to live without sickness thereafter Mat. 26:27-28; Jn. 6:57.

• The blood in the communion can be likened to the ‘White blood corpuscles’ in the human blood, which defends the body against all assaults of sickness and disease.

It is the ‘white blood corpuscles’ in the human blood that fight sickness and diseases that attacks the body. In the same manner, the blood of Jesus has the ‘white blood corpuscles, which forbids spirits to afflict the believers’ body, making the believer to dominate sickness an disease 1Cor. 11:26,30; Jn. 6:53-54.

In conclusion, God’s will of dominion for man on the earth has not changed Mal. 3:6. It is man that must embrace what God has provided, so as to actualize his dominion in life. In essence, you can live the rest of your life without experiencing any sickness or disease again.

Forgive me my sins; wash me with your blood. I believe you died for me, on the third day you rose again that I may be justified. Right now, I believe that my sins are forgiven; I’m justified by your blood; I’m born-again; I’m saved; I’m a child of God; I’m free from the power of sin to serve the living God. Thank you Jesus for receiving me; thank you Jesus for restoring me; thank you Jesus for
