What is not good is not God, and what is not God is the devil handiwork Jms. 1:17; Jn. 10:10. In essence, behind every evil and negative occurrence is the devil at work. By redemption, the devil has no authority or control over the affairs of the believer’s life 1Pet. 5:8. Redemption has empowered the believer to call the shots over his life. In essence, the believer under God determines absolutely what obtains and happens in his life Matt. 18:18; 16:19; Lk. 21:15. The devil has access only to the extent the believer gives him, and until he gains access, his evil plans cannot be executed Eph. 4:27. But we must understand that by nature; the devil has no boundary unless he is placed under check and control 1Pet. 5:8; Job 1:7. In essence, though the devil does not have the right or power to the believer’s life, if a believer does nothing, he will see the devil step in uninvited and unauthorized.
Scriptural Ways to Put Satan under Check in One’s life.
- Make the choice to serve God Matt. 6:24; Exo. 4:22-23.
Service is a personal choice that one make, which determines what gains control over one’s life thereafter Jos. 24:15; Rms. 6:16-18. The choice to serve God commits Him to the life of the believer, and shuts the door against the devil totally.
- Engage your faith Eph. 6:16; Lk. 8:43-48.
Faith means obeying God to prove that one believe in Him. Any time faith is engaged; the enemy is silenced and placed under check. In essence, to stop any unwanted situation in one’s life is simply by; checking for what God says on the issue, embrace it with your heart, and commit to putting it to work. No matter the intensity of the unwanted situation, it will be turned like a dream of the night.
- Engage the prayer altar for your desired change of story 1Chr. 4:9-10; Lk. 18:1,7-8.
One privilege a believer has is the ability to approach God personally, which offers access to whatever the believer desire in his life. Whatever the believer settles in this manner at God’s presence becomes his experience in reality Matt. 18:18. This is why every believer that is committed to the life of prayer, has the testimony of experiencing life as desired.
- Stay in love with God 1Jn. 4:16-18; Eph. 3:17-19.
The love of God makes a believer become one with God, and the effect is that no evil occurrence can have a place in that believer’s life again. Love is a choice to make personally, and a choice that demand commitment. But when the choice is made for God’s love as a priority, the door has been shut against the devil in one’s life.
- Engage in high praise as a lifestyle Acts 16:25-27; 2Chr. 20:20-24.
Praise is a guarantee to secure divine presence, because God will always answer to His praise from a believer Psa. 22:3. Scriptures make us to understand that God’s presence terminates every evil occurrence, mishap and trouble Psa. 16:11; 114:1-8. In essence, one guaranteed way to stop any unwanted situation is to invoke the presence of God by engaging in high praise.
In conclusion, God has ordained for today that all the forces against your glorious life, or out to destroy your destiny; their operation shall come to an end. We must remember that the devil’s door to the life of man is sin, and until that door is shut, Satan has free access to the man’s life. Therefore, to stop the execution of Satan’s wicked acts in one’s lives, we must get rid of sin.
To anyone reading this that will love to give his/her life to Christ, pray this prayer out loud with me from your heart: “Lord Jesus, I surrender my life to you today. Forgive me my sins; wash me with your blood. I believe you died for me, on the third day you rose again that I may be justified. Right now, I believe that my sins are forgiven; I’m justified by your blood; I’m born-again; I’m saved; I’m a child of God; I’m free from the power of sin to serve the living God. Thank you Jesus for receiving me; thank you Jesus for restoring me; thank you Jesus for saving me.”
Prayer.
Father in the name of Jesus, deliver me from the power of sin, and thereby terminate all the acts of the wicked manifesting in my life Zch. 3:4-5.
