Next to salvation, understanding is what the believer must have in order to experience the reality of the abundant life Psa. 119:144; Pro. 21:16; 4:7-9. This refers to the understanding of the principles, weapons and ways of the kingdom that will make the abundant life a reality with the believer. Thanksgiving is a fundamental in the ways, principles and weapons of God’s kingdom Psa. 11:3. This is because, one thing God can never negotiate with man is His glory Isa. 42:8; Psa. 28:5. The understanding of the rewards of doing a thing will always give the strength to pursue it; hence for thanksgiving to become the believer’s lifestyle, there is the need to understand the rewards of giving thanks Heb. 12:1-2; Neh. 2:8.

The Wonders of Thanksgiving.

1. Thanksgiving invokes, preserves, perfects, and multiplies our blessings.

God’s blessing is the security of man’s life on the earth Pro. 10:22. Every man must know how to connect to and retain the blessings of God on his life, else his life will be full of struggle and sorrow. Thanksgiving invokes God’s blessing Psa. 67:1-7. Thanksgiving multiplies God’s blessing on the believer Lk. 17:17-19. Thanksgiving perfects God’s blessing in the believers life Jer. 13:15-17. And thanksgiving preserves God blessing in the life of the believer Mal. 2:1-3..

• Thanksgiving is a spiritual channel for realization of one’s glorious destiny.

Every believer is ordained for glory in life Rms. 8:29-30; 2Pet. 1:3. But every great and glorious destiny will be opposed by forces 2Cor. 16:9. Thanksgiving is the covenant force to subdue the forces and empower the believer to step into his glorious destiny Hab. 3:17-19.

• Thanksgiving facilitates access to revelation.

Revelation is spiritual understanding of scriptures, which makes the believer to know how to practically apply God’s word to deliver desired result Jn. 6:6-11. Revelation is the believer’s guarantee to supernatural change of story and lifting in life Gal. 2:2. Thanksgiving is a cheap access to revelation Psa. 100:4; 16:11.

• Thanksgiving empowers our financial seeds for supernatural returns.

Every seed that is sown must be adequately watered for it to germinate and produce harvest. Thanksgiving is a spiritual watering system, which makes believers seeds to bring forth returns bountifully Psa. 67:5-7; Deut. 26:1-4,10.

• Thanksgiving empowers our stewardship to be profitable.

Scriptures make us to understand that every labor in life delivers profit Pro. 14:23. Scriptures show that the labor invested into serving God delivers the greatest profit on the earth 1Tim. 4:7-8. But thanksgiving is essential to make the kingdom service to produce profit Deut. 28:47-48; Php. 1:15-18.

• Thanksgiving engenders breakthrough in our various endeavors.

Breakthrough can be defined as enforcing progress against oppositions. In whatever area the believer is held down by oppositions, thanksgiving will enforce the believer’s breakthrough Hab. 3:17-19. Thanksgiving will always secure divine presence, which every opposition clear before, resulting in the believers progress Psa. 24:7-10; 114:1-8.

• Thanksgiving is the mystery behind supernatural church growth.

Continuous growth is God’s design for His church and every believer Matt. 16:18; Pro. 4:18. But the growth of the church and the believer is faced with stiff and unrelenting contest from the forces of darkness Eph. 6:12-13. Thanksgiving invokes God’s power, which makes the forces of darkness to submit resulting in the unstoppable growth Psa. 92:1-2,10; Jer. 30:19; Acts 2:47.

In conclusion, every believer that is committed to thanksgiving as a lifestyle in history was made into giants. You are the next giant to rise in the kingdom.

To anyone reading this that will love to give his/her life to Christ, pray this prayer out loud with me from your heart: “Lord Jesus, I surrender my life to you today. Forgive me my sins; wash me with your blood. I believe you died for me, on the third day you rose again that I may be justified. Right now, I believe that my sins are forgiven; I’m justified by your blood; I’m born-again; I’m saved; I’m a child of God; I’m free from the power of sin to serve the living God. Thank you Jesus for receiving me; thank you Jesus for restoring me; thank you Jesus for saving me.”

Father in the name of Jesus, I receive a fresh outpouring of the oil of joy and gladness for the lifestyle of thanksgiving from this day Isa. 63:1,3.
