God designed life on earth for His children to be marked with continuous and unstoppable progress, until the believer emerges as a star Pro. 4:18; Matt. 5:13-14. But we need an understanding of how God has designed this progress to be achieved and apply ourselves to it, before we can begin to have the experience. The lack of the understanding is the reason for the struggles, failure and frustration of many Eccl. 10:15. God’s way to experience this progress is by following divine guidance Deut. 32:9-14; Isa. 48:17. The truth is that God is still in the business of leading men today Psa. 32:8.
Five Major Ways that God Leads.
- Through the voice of God behind the Word Psa. 119:105; Isa. 34:16.
- Though the voice of the Holy Spirit Jn. 16:13-14; Acts 8:28-29; 10:19-20.
- Through the witness of the Holy Spirit Rms. 8:16; Acts 16:6-7.
- Through heavenly vision Acts 9: 6-9; 28:19; 10:11-16.
- Through God sent prophets 2Chr. 20:14-17,22-24; Amos 3:7; Lk. 4:25-27.
Anyone can be led by God simply by understanding how to access God’s voice that gives direction.
How to Access Divine Guidance.
- Through the platform of prayer and fasting.
While prayer is the platform for communication with God, fasting makes prayer to deliver fast; it is a spiritual catalyst to prayer Jer. 33:3; Isa. 1:18; Isa. 58:6,8,11; Ezr. 8:21-23.Everyone that desires to receive divine guidance must come on the altar of prayer to present the guidance he needs to God. Men of prayer are men that enjoy guidance from God; and the more one engages the prayer altar, the more he accesses divine guidance.
- Remain in love with God.
Love elevates a believer to the level of God, where he becomes one with God Eph. 3:17-19; 1Jn. 4:16. By this, the voice of God for guidance becomes understandable, clear and distinct to the believer Jn. 10:27. Scriptures also make us to understand that love grants the believer access to the heart of God, making him to know always what God wants per time Jn. 15:15. Love for God simply means loving what God loves; which include among others, His word Psa. 119:97; His house Psa. 87:2-1; the salvation of souls Jn. 3:16. Love is a choice, and we proof it with right action 1Jn. 3:18.
- Through heavenly visions.
Vision is a spiritual language with which God communicate with His children 1Cor. 12:1. It is the opening of the eyes and ears of the believer to see and hear into the spirit realm. But to walk in divine guidance through a vision, one must have the understanding of the vision Acts 16:9-10; 10:10-19. The understanding of what we saw or heard will come with the vision. Often, it does not, and we have to ask the Holy Spirit for the understanding.
Biblical Proofs of being led by the Holy Spirit.
What are the things that show the guidance one has received is from God?
- Supernatural confidence Exo. 13:17018; 14:13-15.
When God leads, even at the phase of what should make for fear, one will have the inner conviction that all is well. This is what we call confidence, and it is God’s signature on His guidance.
- Divine strength Jud. 6:14; Heb. 10:5.
When God leads, He imparts the strength for the led to run to the end. When one receives guidance, and seems to lack the inner strength to pursue, then take caution it might not be God’s guidance.
In conclusion, divine guidance makes the journey of life great, glorious and sure. The choice to be led by God and follow is the wisest choice in life. You too can make it now, and begin to experience the glory.
To anyone reading this that will love to give his/her life to Christ, pray this prayer out loud with me from your heart: “Lord Jesus, I surrender my life to you today. Forgive me my sins; wash me with your blood. I believe you died for me, on the third day you rose again that I may be justified. Right now, I believe that my sins are forgiven; I’m justified by your blood; I’m born-again; I’m saved; I’m a child of God; I’m free from the power of sin to serve the living God. Thank you Jesus for receiving me; thank you Jesus for restoring me; thank you Jesus for saving me.”
Prayer.
- Father in the name of Jesus, I choose to follow your guidance from today; open my eyes and ears to your voice that guides from this moment Isa. 30:30.
- Father in the name of Jesus; heal me of every form of spiritual blindness and deafness, thereby making me to receive divine guidance clearly from today Isa. 42:18-19.

Believers are obligated to give thanks to God always 2Ths. 1:3; 2:13. This implies that expressing appreciation to God is something believers must do at all times; failure will mean owing God, which is against Scripture Rms. 13:8. The only way not to owe God is to continually give thanks to Him. What Are We […]

God ordained each person He created for a fulfilling and great life on the earth Mat. 5:13-14.
