UNDERSTANDING HOW GOD LEADS PT. 2.

Divine guidance is a must for everyone that loves to make the most of his life on the earth Isa. 48:17,21; Psa. 23:1-6. Why someone may ask? Among other things, it is because every man is a product of his decisions and choices Deut. 30:19. And man by himself alone does not have the capacity for decision and choice that has the guarantee for a glorious future Pro.  14:12; 16:25; Jer. 10:23-24. It is only through God’s guidance, added to man’s reasoning that his decisions and choice can guarantee a great life Pro. 16:9. The good news is, God has committed Himself to guide us, but only when we are willing and know how He guides.

Five Ways that God Leads.

  1. Through the voice of God behind the Word Psa. 119:105; Isa. 34:16.

Every documented statement in scripture in intentionally placed there to offer guidance to the believer in life. We simply need to ask ourselves, what the scripture says on this matter to receive God’s guidance on it. But for God’s word to guide, we must access the voice behind the word; it is through that voice that God’s word gives guidance Psa. 29:3-4. In essence, the written word of God must be turned to a voice that speaks to us to guide us; this is what is called rhema or revelation.

  • Though the voice of the Holy Spirit Jn. 16:13-14; Acts 8:28-29; 10:19-20.

The Holy Spirit is a person who can speak, and every true believer will hear. In essence, the Holy Spirit is a speaking Spirit, and He guides the believer through His voice.

  • Through the witness of the Holy Spirit Rms. 8:16; Acts 16:6-7.

The witness of the Holy Spirit is different from the voice of the Holy Spirit. This is the Holy Spirit impressing a thing on the inside of the believer, thereby giving him a knowing of what to do in the moment. We must this from feeling, which is a function of what our five senses is making us to understand. In essence, feeling can be traced through either of our senses to where we have it. But impression of the Holy Spirit often has no physical track.

  • Through heavenly vision Acts 9: 6-9; 28:19; 10:11-16.

Heavenly vision refers to when the eyes and (or) ears of the believer is opened to see and hear into the spirit realm. This is a way God speaks to guide the believer; it is is popularly (but wrongly) called revelation today. When a believer receives a heavenly vision, he must understand what it means for him to be guided by it. And to understand what a heavenly vision means, the believer simply need to ask the Holy Spirit for the meaning.

  • Through God sent prophets 2Chr. 20:14-17,22-24; Amos 3:7; Lk. 4:25-27.

Prophets are anointed servants of God with the privilege to see into the mind of God and declare same to those they are sent to. Prophets declare the mind of God for the moment or hour. When you identify the one sent to your life, take advantage by remaining connected and follow his instruction per time.

How to Access Divine Guidance.

Every believer has the right to divine guidance, but it is not every believer that is qualified to receive guidance from God. This is because there are requirements to be guided by God.

  1. Be spiritually minded Rms. 8:6; 1Cor. 2:14.

The state of the believer’s mind is vital in receiving divine guidance. The mind can either be carnal (occupied with the things of the world and pleasure of life) or spiritual Occupied with the things of God and His kingdom). It is only the spiritual mind that has the capacity to receive divine guidance.

  1. Have a genuine crave to be led Pro. 3:5-6; Jer. 29:13; 33:3.

God’s nature is that He does not force Himself on any man. He will only lead the believer that is willing and desires to be led. The stronger the desire, the easier it becomes to receive God’s guidance.

  1. Open up to the revelation of the word Psa. 119:105.

The more the believer gives himself to the word of God in reading, study, meditation, the cheaper it become to receive divine guidance.

Biblical Proofs of Being Led by the Holy Spirit.

In essence, how to ascertain that the leading one has received is from God.

  1. Pressure-free state Pro. 3:16-17; 1Jn. 5:3.

When a leading is from God, it does not put undue pressure on man. God respect the choice of man; he leaves individuals to either choose or reject His leading. Therefore, when there is undue pressure to do what you are led, watch, it is not likely to be God’s leading,

  • A state of supernatural joy Psa. 89:15; Heb. 12:1-2; 1Pet. 1:8.

The voice of God has the characteristic of igniting joy in man. In essence, when one hears God’s voice that leads, joy will be triggered on the inside of that believer. Even when the leading one is receiving seems not to be what one likes, there will be the ‘joy’ deep on the inside on the believer.

In conclusion, any man can hear the voice of God that leads in life. And there is no man that hears and follow divine guidance who ever regrets it, rather they testify of total change of story. You can make yourself the next testimony people will talk about.

To anyone reading this that will love to give his/her life to Christ, pray this prayer out loud with me from your heart: “Lord Jesus, I surrender my life to you today. Forgive me my sins; wash me with your blood. I believe you died for me, on the third day you rose again that I may be justified. Right now, I believe that my sins are forgiven; I’m justified by your blood; I’m born-again; I’m saved; I’m a child of God; I’m free from the power of sin to serve the living God. Thank you Jesus for receiving me; thank you Jesus for restoring me; thank you Jesus for saving me.”

Prayer.

Father in the name of Jesus, heal me of every spiritual deafness and blindness, and cause me to hear your voice of guidance clearly from today Isa. 42:19.
