God’s will for man, particularly His children is health 3Jn. 2. The scriptures make us to understand that there are two provisions of God for the health of man, these are the physician and the balm in Gilead Jer. 8:21-22. While Jesus is the physician, often referred to as the great physician, God’s word is the balm in Gilead Mat. 9:13-15; 4:23; Psa. 107:20. In essence, to enjoy health one must have Christ in his life, and live by the word of God Col, 1:27; Mat. 11:28; Pro. 4:20-21.
Three Major Ways that Christ Heals Today.
God’s word is the balm of Gilead, which means it is the prescription for our health. Jesus uses the word as the “medicine” to cure all sicknesses, resulting in healing and health Mat. 8:16-17; Lk. 6:17-19.
Christ is the anointed one; anointing means power and it is for the healing of men Acts 10:38; Lk. 4:18.
Everything bows to the name of Jesus including sickness, disease, affliction etc, which makes the name to heal and proffer health Php. 2:9-11; Acts 3:6,16; Mk. 16:15-17.
Some Prescriptions of God’s Word for our Healing and Health.
What the believer need is to understand the items on the prescription, apply them as prescribed, and his healing and health is guaranteed. We shall consider four of the items on the prescription that is of interest.
The church is not the building; it is more than a mere meeting. The church is a spiritual gathering that affords the believer the privilege of meeting with God and the forces of spirit, which will culminate in health and strength of the believer Heb. 12:22-24; Oba. 17; Psa. 84:7. In essence, the church of Christ is a kind of:
There was this testimony at Shiloh 1999; a woman that was crippled stood to her feet without anybody praying over her. In 2016, when she turned 60, she returned to give glory to God and still on her feet.
There is another testimony also at Faith Tabernacle Ota of a whole family that was besieged with tuberculosis and at the terminal stage, which was healed at one sweep without anyone praying over them. This was as they simply sat in the church in one of the Sunday services.
What is the communion? It is made up of the flesh and blood of Jesus Christ in a mystery of the bread and drink Mat. 26:28-29; Jn. 6:48-58. The communion is a kingdom mystery for health, strength and longevity 1Cor. 11:23,30. The communion is the miracle meal, which empowers us to live like Christ in our spirit, soul and body 1Ths. 5:23; Jn. 6:53-54,57; 17:18.
What is in the flesh and the blood that heals?
Faith is the spiritual virtue with which the believer taps into the power of God, to take delivery of his healing and health Isa. 53:1. In essence, when our faith comes alive, God’s power is at work to establish our desired healing and health Mat. 9:27-29; Mk. 5:28-30,35-36. What is faith? It is the choice to be confident in God and what He says, which makes one to put what God has said to work thereby commit Him to perform His word Mk. 2:3-5. Faith has to be consciously built, and this is by committed and consistent feeding on God’s word Rms. 10:17.
Joy is a spiritual tonic for health and vitality of the believer Pro. 17:22; Neh. 8:10. Thanksgiving and praise will trigger fresh oil, which will result in healing and health of the believer Psa. 92:1-3,10-15.
In conclusion, anyone can be out of whatever challenge he has suffered in his health, and never to be found in it again. All that is required is to embrace what God has provided for our healing and health. I see you enjoy health, strength and vitality from today.
To anyone reading this that will love to give his/her life to Christ, pray this prayer out loud with me from your heart: “Lord Jesus, I surrender my life to you today. Forgive me my sins; wash me with your blood. I believe you died for me, on the third day you rose again that I may be justified. Right now, I believe that my sins are forgiven; I’m justified by your blood; I’m born-again; I’m saved; I’m a child of God; I’m free from the power of sin to serve the living God. Thank you Jesus for receiving me; thank you Jesus for restoring me; thank you Jesus for
