Financial fortune is God’s design for every believer 3Jn2. Redemption entitles the believer for wealth above what King Solomon experienced Matt. 11:11; 12:42; Jn. 17:18. But, scriptures make us to understand that wealth in the kingdom is a covenant, only believers that subscribe to the covenant qualifies to experience it Deut. 8:18; Psa. 89:34. An understanding of the why God blesses is essential to embrace the covenant, and experience his prosperity plan.
Understanding Why God Blesses.
At the heart of God’s intention of prosperity for the believer is to make him a blessing Gen. 12:1-3; Gal. 3:29. Until the believer understand the secret of being a blessing, he may never experience the fullness of God’s blessings in his life Acts 20:35; Gal. 6:10; 1Tim. 6:17-19.
Three main reasons why God blesses the believer:
- To establish His covenant of abundance Deut. 8:18; 2Cor. 8:9; 1Tim. 6:17-18.
We serve the covenant keeping God. The only prove of this is by the prosperity of His children, as they put to work His word.
- To promote His kingdom on earth Zch. 1:17; Hag. 1:5-14.
Wealth in God’s kingdom is the covenant tool for advancing the kingdom of God on earth. In essence, God blesses His children in order for them to promote His kingdom on earth Exo. 12:36; 25:1-8. Therefore, the more a believer is willing to promote God’s kingdom with the blessing God has given him, the better he qualifies for more of God’s blessing.
- To bless mankind at large Pro. 28:27; Matt. 25:34-40; Gal. 6:10.
God places His resources in the hand of His children for them to care for the fatherless, widow, orphans on His behalf Psa. 68:5. The believer that his hand is open to care for the less privileged around him has positioned himself for the flow of God’s blessing in his life.
Fringe Benefits that Accompany the Giving Covenant.
The returns from practicing the covenant of financial fortune covers all needs in man’s life Phil. 4:15-19. Man’s need is not only financial; so what are the other benefits?
- It averts plague Psa. 41:1-3; 2Sam. 24:24-25; Gen. 8:22.
Plague refers to a disastrous evil, affliction or calamity. Plague also mean the sudden appearance of anything with the capacity to destroy rapidly, resulting in high rate of mortality. The covenant of kingdom wealth has the power to stop it. In essence, what destroys others is not permitted to touch a believer walking in the covenant.
- It invokes divine favour 1Kgs. 3:3-5,13; 2Kgs 4:8-16; Psa. 102:13-15; 2Cor. 9:6-8.
Favour is the preferential treatment that makes an individual to enjoy beyond what he is qualified for. Favour makes the believer to deliver result beyond his natural ability and capacity. Favour makes the believer not to sweat as others do, yet commanding enviable result. Without favour, one is left with labour in life. Therefore, the giving covenant is the escape route from the life of labour.
- It guarantees posterity Psa. 112:1-9.
The giving covenant secures the life and generation of our children yet unborn. The benefits that accrue to a believer operating the giving covenant does not only end with his life, they are passed down to his children. This places the children at an advantage over their peers in life.
In conclusion, you have no business with poverty, but everything in life depends on your choice! For every one who has been practicing the covenant, review and renew your practice, for upgrade in your financial status.
To anyone reading this that will love to give his/her life to Christ, pray this prayer out loud with me from your heart: “Lord Jesus, I surrender my life to you today. Forgive me my sins; wash me with your blood. I believe you died for me, on the third day you rose again that I may be justified. Right now, I believe that my sins are forgiven; I’m justified by your blood; I’m born-again; I’m saved; I’m a child of God; I’m free from the power of sin to serve the living God. Thank you Jesus for receiving me; thank you Jesus for restoring me; thank you Jesus for saving me.”
Prayer.
Father, in the name of Jesus, empower me by Your Spirit for a more qualitative walk in the covenant, resulting in my emergence in financial greatness Eph. 3:16.
