Prophecies are the unveiling of God’s plan and purpose for a people or an individual Isa. 42:9; 46:10. The scriptures make us to understand that when God makes His plan and purpose known, it is for the purpose of performance of same. But performance places certain essential demands on the believers; the first is to have the confidence that the prophecy cannot fail Isa. 14:24,47. The confidence of the believer is boosted by understanding the power of prophecies.
How Powerful are Prophecies?
In essence, what makes prophecies powerful for unstoppable fulfillment?
God’s word has the power to create, which means the capacity to bring what has never existed into existence, from nothing Heb. 11:3; Rms. 4:17. In essence, when what God says has never happened before, we can be confident that it will happen.
Our God is the owner of the heaven and the earth, which means His resources are beyond what the human mind can quantify Psa. 115:16; 24:1. In essence, when what God says appears as far-fetched, we should be confident that He has what it takes to make it happen.
The other demand to see the fulfilment of prophecies is to make relevant moves, which is what we refer to as faith Lk. 1:45; Heb. 11:7.
How Does Faith Facilitate Fulfilment of Prophecies?
In essence, the moves that faith will drive the believer to make, which will result into prophecy fulfilment.
For prophecy to be fulfilled, the believer is required to remain strong on the prophetic word to the end Mat. 24:13; Mat. 14:26-30, Heb. 10:38. Faith is the covenant force that strengthens the believer to be strong till the end Hab. 2:2-4; Heb. 11:11.
When the believer refuses to stagger or waiver at the promise of God, he has enforced the fulfilment of the prophecy Jms. 1:6-8; Jn. 8:39. It is faith that makes the believer not to stagger at what God says irrespective of the contrary Rms. 4:20-21.
For the delivery of prophetic word, the believer must remain confident in the validity of the prophecy to the end Heb. 10:35-36; Php. 3:3; Psa. 125:1-3. Faith is what strengthens the believer to remain confident in whatever God says no matter the situation Php. 1:6.
The reason many fail to see prophecy come to pass is anxiety, worry and agitation on how it will happen Lk. 1:31-34,35-38. Faith brings the believer into peace on the prophetic word, thereby bringing the prophecy to fulfilment Php. 4:6-7; Psa. 46:10; Exo. 14:14.
For prophecies to be fulfilled, the believer needs to engage the force of joy, rejoicing, thanksgiving and praise Joel 1:12; Deu. 28:47-48. Faith is the force that empowers the believer to keep rejoicing in spite of what may be happening in the contrary Heb. 3:17-19.
In conclusion, God’s word that is spoken is never known to fail Isa. 55:10-11. This year, you shall take full and speedy delivery of all that the mouth of God has spoken concerning your life!
