We belong to a kingdom of power 1Cor. 4:20; 2:4. It is power that authenticates our membership in the kingdom, and gives value to our lives Psa. 110:2-3; 66:7. When then is the church of Christ so powerless in most parts today? It is because many are yet to discover our covenant access to empowerment Hos. 4:6; Isa. 5:13.
Access to Power in God’s Kingdom.
- Empowerment in God’s kingdom is through the person of the Holy Spirit Mic. 3:8; Acts 1:8.
In essence, the Holy Spirit at work in and through the believer is what results in power manifestation. Rather than running from one prayer house and church seeking for power, connect and allow the Holy Spirit to work in your life, and power will begin to flow.
- Empowerment in God’s kingdom is through service Lk. 9:1-6; 10:1-2,17-19.
In essence, believers are empowered for service, not to sit and collect blessings in the church. Therefore, only those that commit to the Father’s business will access power in the kingdom Matt. 20:1-10. And the Father’s business is essentially the salvation of the unsaved Psa. 74:12; Jn. 4:31-35.
- The Holy Spirit empowers through His diverse operations 1Cor. 12:4-6.
In essence, to gain access to the power of the Holy Spirit, the believer must understand and connect to the diverse ways of operation of the Holy Spirit.
The Diverse Operations of the Holy Spirit.
- The Spirit of power Psa. 110:1-3; Lk. 4:14,18,37; Acts 4:13-21.
As the Spirit of power, the Holy Spirit enables the believer with supernatural abilities to accomplish result that is naturally beyond him. Every believer that finds it hard to engage in prayer and soul winning simply need this dimension of the Holy Spirit operation in their lives Acts 1:8.
- The Spirit of obedience Deut. 28:1-13; Ezk. 36:26-27; Jn. 14:21.
This operation of the Holy Spirit enables the believer to do whatever God commands, no matter how difficult. In essence, when a believer has the Holy Spirit operate in him as the Spirit of obedience, getting involved in kingdom advancement and soul winning outreaches becomes a lifestyle Matt. 6:33.
- The Spirit of meekness Exo. 11:3; Num. 12:3; 1Pet. 3:4.
This operation of the Holy Spirit enables the believer to receive correction and instruction with delight and prompt. Everyone that will be relevant and fruitful in the kingdom business must have the quality of meekness, thereby making the Spirit of meekness a must for every believer Php. 2:5-11.
- The Spirit of prayer and supplication Zch. 12:10; Rms. 8:26; Jud. 20.
This operation of the Holy Spirit enables the believer for a fervent and effective prayer life. When this dimension of the Holy Spirit operation is at work in a believer, kingdom advancement prayer becomes the breath of the believer’s life Matt. 6:9-10,33.
What to Do to Become Empowered.
- Be thirsty Isa. 44:3; Jn. 7:37-39.
An insatiable desire for empowerment is a qualifier for empowerment.
- Ask in prayer Lk. 11:9-13; Zch. 10:1.
We must place a demand in prayer for us to be empowered. Remember, being specific in prayer makes for answer to prayer Mk. 11:24.
In conclusion, Power is a must for a life of envy and glory on the earth. And engaging in kingdom business is the pathway to power. Therefore, the decision to become committed to soul winning and kingdom advancement prayer is the wisdom for an enviable life.
To anyone reading this that will love to give his/her life to Christ, pray this prayer out loud with me from your heart: “Lord Jesus, I surrender my life to you today. Forgive me my sins; wash me with your blood. I believe you died for me, on the third day you rose again that I may be justified. Right now, I believe that my sins are forgiven; I’m justified by your blood; I’m born-again; I’m saved; I’m a child of God; I’m free from the power of sin to serve the living God. Thank you Jesus for receiving me; thank you Jesus for restoring me; thank you Jesus for saving me.”
Prayer.
- Father, in the name of Jesus, my choice is a tireless commitment to kingdom advancement in prayer and soul winning from today, empower me by your Spirit Acts 1:8.
