Of all the forces in the kingdom, wisdom is said to be the principal Pro. 4:7. The word “Principal” mean the first in order of importance, or the most important; it also can mean ‘the main’. This means that wisdom is the main or most important force in the kingdom; this makes it a vital foundation in the kingdom. Remember, the scriptures says that when the foundation is destroyed or not in place, any other thing the child of God does will be a wasted effort Psa. 11:3. It is the reason why someone may have done ‘everything’, yet things may not be working. This is because the first thing is not done yet Mk. 10:17,19-21.

What is wisdom?

It is knowing the right thing to do from God’s word and doing it; knowing the right way to go and going there; knowing the right step to take and taking it; and knowing the right turn to make and making it Matt. 7:24-28; Jms. 1:22-25.

The challenge with many in life is lack of wisdom, not the devil, curses and spells nor the enemies. This is because when wisdom is lacking, scripture instructs that we should get it first, else the individual will end up with struggles when he makes attempts at progress in life Pro. 4:7; Jms. 1:5-6.

Biblical Wisdom for Settlement.

Scriptures make us to understand that any affliction of long continuance is a curse Deut. 28:15,59. But Christ has redeemed us from the curse of the law, hence affliction contrary to the life in Christ Gal. 3:13-14.  By redemption, the believer is not permitted to suffer (anything) beyond a while or a moment 1Pet. 5:10; 2Cor. 4:17. As God’s servant, Bishop David Oyedepo, will always say it; “It is scriptural for a believer to be challenged, but unscriptural for him to be defeated or remain in the challenge” Isa. 43:1-2.

From scriptures, a while or moment is interpreted as:

  1. One hour Matt. 8:8-10,13; Rev. 18:10,17-19.
    1. Overnight or twelve (12) hours Psa. 30:5.
    1. One day 2Cor. 6:2.
    1. Three days Hos. 6:2; Jn. 2:19-21.

Remember, every provision of the kingdom is deliverable only by the covenant. Therefore, we need the understanding of the covenant that guarantee divine settlement, when an individual walks in it, his settlement becomes unstoppable Jer. 33:20-21; Psa. 89:34.

The Covenant of settlement (the terms of the covenant).

  1. One must be born again and remain so by righteousness Jn. 3:3.

Being born again means to renounce the life of sin, receive Christ into one’s life, thereby getting connected to God’s blessings that secures a glorious life on the earth Gal. 3:13-14; Pro. 10:22. But to continue in the blessings and remain free of afflictions, one must maintain his salvation by walking or practice righteousness 1Jn. 3:7-8; Isa. 32:17. This is where many in church miss it, they indulge in ungodly lifestyle and by this they remain victims of curses and affliction. The way out is to return like the prodigal son to the Father, and make the choice to maintain their walk in righteousness by depending on the Holy Spirit.

  • Be committed to build your faith Eph. 6:16; Heb. 4:9-12; 1Jn. 5:4.

Faith is the believer’s guarantee for victory over all satanic resistance and assault against his life. But faith is a personal responsibility; in essence, it won’t happen by itself, it has to be consciously built by individuals. The challenge is that many assume faith so they keep failing, but the true prove of faith is testimony! Therefore, everyone that desires settlement must accept the responsibility to build his faith.

  • Be committed to live by the word Psa. 119:89,165; Matt. 11:28-29.

In the beginning, when God was faced with the challenge of a chaotic earth, He settled it with His word Gen. 1:3-31. When Jesus in his earthly ministry was confronted by Satan and his assaults, He settled it using God’s word Matt. 4:1-11; Lk. 4:1-13. The choice by the believer to always do what God’s word says is the guarantee to become settled in all area of life. The undoing of many is the disobedience to God’s word, when they follow either their own way, tradition, or the advice of science or men.

  • Be committed to the house of God 2Sam. 7:10; Psa. 91:1,12-15; 132:13-16.

God’s house is a mysterious place, ordained by God as the centre to settle all issues that pertains to His children Oba. 17. The more committed a believer is to God’s house, the more he enjoys a settled life. Therefore, to settle in God’s house is to become settled in life.

  • Enter into a covenant to keep serving God 2Chr. 15:12-15; Matt. 6:33.

When one commits to serving God, he is delivered from serving any other thing in life. To serve God means to be committed to the pursuit of God’s interest and the advancement of His kingdom. The only thing that God is interested in is the salvation of souls Jn. 3:16; Lk. 15-3-7; Matt. 18:11-14. Therefore, how passionate a believer is towards winning of souls and seeing them established in the faith and the church is the indication of his service for God.

In conclusion, whether one is under affliction, curses or one is enjoying a settled life is a personal responsibility, which is determined by the choice of each one and his approach to life. No matter how bad the situation is, when the right choice is made and backed up with appropriate action, there will be drastic and dramatic turnaround. I believe this is what God has ordained to happen for you today, as you make the right choice to walk in God’s covenant from now.

To anyone reading this that will love to give his/her life to Christ, pray this prayer out loud with me from your heart: “Lord Jesus, I surrender my life to you today. Forgive me my sins; wash me with your blood. I believe you died for me, on the third day you rose again that I may be justified. Right now, I believe that my sins are forgiven; I’m justified by your blood; I’m born-again; I’m saved; I’m a child of God; I’m free from the power of sin to serve the living God. Thank you Jesus for receiving me; thank you Jesus for restoring me; thank you Jesus for saving me.”

Prayer.

  1. Father in the name of Jesus, thank you for the light of your word you have shed into my life today Psa. 119:130.
  2. Father in the name of Jesus, I receive the grace to keep walking in the covenant of settlement, thereby establishing my in a settled life on every side Zch. 4:7.
