We understand from scriptures that winning the lost to Christ is a scriptural instruction to all believers Mk. 16:15-16. But winning the lost is not the complete instruction; the converts must abide in the faith by becoming established in the church Jn. 15:16. In essence, ingathering of souls is not just an ambitious drive to have a bigger congregation, but obedience to the commandment of scriptures Lk. 14:21-23. Remember, every instruction of scriptures is for the profit of the believer when obeyed 2Tim. 3:16-17. What benefit is there in gathering souls into the church?

Profits of Ingathering of souls to the church.

1. Sanctification of our new converts and members.

Sanctification means to be set apart from whatever defiles unto God alone 2Cor. 6:17-18. The scriptures present this as a demand for all believers Jn. 17:19. How does this and ingathering to church inter-relate?

1. The church is the center of deliverance, where new converts are set free from all ungodly, age-long habits Oba. 17; Heb. 10:25. Every sinner seeks for freedom from wrong attitude and habits, and will go to wherever to get it.
2. The church is the cleansing center for God’s people; where God’s word is constantly ministered, which cleanses the converts of all pollution Jn. 15:3; Eph. 5:25-26. This experience makes them to keep coming.
3. The church is the distribution center of inheritance in Christ, but it demands sanctification to take delivery Acts 20:32; 2Pet. 1:3. In essence, the new converts are attracted to church for their inheritance, and get sanctified in the process, resulting in their dramatic turnaround that keeps them glued to church.

All of these show that ingathering of new converts to church is a must for them to become established in the faith and God.

Father in the name of Jesus, empower me by your Spirit for the ingathering of all my converts and contacts into the church until they are established Zch. 4:6.
