house of Israel, to do it for them; I will increase them with men

like a flock.” – Ezk. 36:37.

Scriptures make us to understand that the church that will grow must be willing to pay the price of adequate prayer investment Isa. 66:7-8; Ezk. 36:37. God ordained the church for supernatural and continuous growth, but this will only happen when the price is paid. The growth of the church happen as men receive salvation through Jesus Christ, become established in the faith and the church Acts 2:37,41. This will not happen unless Satan and his forces who hold unto the heart of the unsaved is overpowered and subdued, and this is by prayer Lk. 11:21-21.

This week, the focus of our teachings is on the reasons for the church to be steadfast on the prayer altar if we desire to keep experiencing growth. I believe that the fire on our prayer altar will be kindled afresh, and set us on a new level of kingdom advancement prayer engagement like we have never experienced before now.

What makes Prayer vital for Church Growth?

1. It takes the prayer of faith to move the hand of God Jms. 5:15; Isa. 53:1.

Scriptures make us to understand that the hand of God is what draws people to the God and the church Jn. 6:44; Acts 2:47. Also, it takes the hand of God for our new converts and new members to be established in the church Psa. 23:1-2. And the hand of God can only be moved to work through the prayer of faith. Therefore, it is as the church prays that the multitudes are drawn to the church, the sinners are convicted and receives salvation, and both the converts and new members abide in the faith and the church Gal. 4:19; Col. 4:12. Without prayer, all efforts in outreach, soul winning and evangelism will produce no or little result. And this is what has made these exercise often frustrating among believers.

From scriptures, we understand that there is profit in every labor in life Pro. 14:23. Prayer is not only labor, it is spiritual labor with the promise of higher level of profit than any other 1Tim. 4:8. In essence, every believer that is given to kingdom-focused prayer engagement is guaranteed a life of great rewards and profits Matt. 6:6,18.

Father in the name of Jesus, baptize me afresh with the Spirit of grace and supplication, thereby empower for tireless engagement on the prayer altar for church growth from today Zch. 12:10
