Memory verse:

“These things I command you, that ye love one another.”

• Jn. 15:16-17.

The scriptures make us to understand that God has only good things for His children, and will not deny any of them Psa. 84:11. These good things of God for His children are stocked up in His house Psa. 65:4. Therefore, everyone that will enjoy God’s goodness must become committed to His House. Getting a sinner saved and leaving him outside of the church is robbing that convert of enjoying God’s goodness in his life. Therefore, we are not only to bear fruits into the kingdom by winning the unsaved to Christ, we need to ensure that out fruits abide by getting them to become committed to the church Jn. 15:16.

Scriptural understanding that empowers the believer to labor for abiding fruits.

1. For spiritual growth and development of our converts.

One vital proof of life is growth; every living thing is therefore expected to exhibit growth to validate the life it possesses. In essence, the convert will only proof the life of Christ he received at salvation by his growth and development in the things of God 1Pet. 2:2. And the church is the spiritual center where we grow from strength to strength Psa. 84:7. Also, the church is the place where God has appointed His shepherds who feed with the knowledge and understanding that will lead to growth Jer. 3:15-16; Acts 20:28. Further, the church is the center of spiritual illumination that is ordained to bring growth to the believer Psa. 73:17; 2Cor. 3:18.

To become committed to the church is an essential that will make a convert to maximize his new life in Christ Psa. 84:7. We stand the risk of losing our convert to the world if we don’t get them to abide in the church in good time.

Prayer.                                                

Father in the name of Jesus, I receive the empowerment of the Holy Spirit to labor to the point of my reward Jn. 4:35-36.

Action.

We must be willing to commit our finance to see our converts present in every church service.
