Memory verse:

“Ye have not chosen me, but I have chosen you, and ordained you, that ye should go and bring forth fruit, and that your fruit should remain: that whatsoever ye shall ask of the Father in my name, he may give it you.”

“These things I command you, that ye love one another.”

  • Jn. 15:16-17.

When purpose is not known or unclear, men become victim of the forces of life that destroy Pro. 29:18. The security of the believer therefore is a clear understanding of the purpose of his salvation, which is to reconcile the unsaved back to God 2Cor. 5:17-20; Eph. 2:10. But it is not enough to see souls saved; they must become established in the faith Jn. 15:16. The establishment of converts in the faith is enhanced and validated by their establishment in the church Heb. 10:25. When a convert is left to stay out of fellowship, he is bound to be lost to the world and the life of sin again Mat. 13:4.

Scriptural understanding that empowers the believer to labor for abiding fruits.

  1. For the sanctification of our converts and new members.

Sanctification is the state of dominion over sin and walk in godliness Rms. 6:14. Sanctification is the will of God for the believer; where the believer lives absolutely above sin 1Ths. 4:3; 1Cor. 1:30. The church is the center of deliverance and holiness, where the convert is set free from all ungodly age-long habits Obd. 1:17. Also, the church is the cleansing center, where the word of God is continually released to wash the convert off every sinful act Jn. 15:3; Eph. 5:25-26. In essence, if the convert will attain unto sanctification, he must be brought into the church and abide there. We must remember that it takes sanctification for the believer to take delivery of our inheritance in Christ Acts 20:32; 2Pet. 1:3. The reason many become born again yet their life does not reflect God’s blessing is; they lack sanctification because of their weak commitment to fellowship.

We must not stop at laboring at having converts, we must go further to see them established in the faith by being established in the church. This is the security for their change of story, access to the blessing of the kingdom, and the rewards for our labor.
