Memory verse:
“Now thanks be unto God, which always causeth us to triumph in Christ, and maketh manifest the savour of his knowledge by us in every place.” 2Cor. 2:14.
We are commanded by scriptures to give thanks all the time, failure at it makes the believer a debtor to God 1Ths. 5:18; Lk. 17:17-18. We are not only expected to give thanks, we must give thanks on time Jer. 13:15-16. Delay at thanksgiving is pride, which is destructive. But to give thanks heartily and spontaneously demands the understanding of the things that God has done Psa. 47:7.
Vital scriptural understanding for our thanksgiving.
God has the sole right to His word; only He can send the word to the church, believers or individuals Isa. 9:8; Psa. 107:20. Without God sending the word, the intellectual strength of the believer will only end in struggles without result. Our thanksgiving this week is to celebrate God for His word He has continually sent to us in this commission the past 43 years. These are the proofs that God has been sending His word to us:
Jesus is Lord!
Prayer.
Father in the name of Jesus, thank you for doing all things well these past 43 years in this commission, and for my privilege to be a partaker in this commission Mk. 7:37.
Action.
Make the choice not to ask God for anything this week, only to give thanks.
Priestly Blessings.
Be clothed with the garment of praise afresh right now!
Through your thanksgiving, you have an encounter with the glorified Christ!
