WHAT IS A REVIVAL? PT. 5.

Memory verse:   

“O LORD, I have heard thy speech, and was afraid: O LORD, revive

 thy work in the midst of the years, in the midst of the years make known; in wrath remember mercy.”

  • Hab. 3:2.

God’s delight is in relating with man, this is why He made man in His own image after His likeness Gen. 1:26-27. And from the beginning it has been the style of God to appoint times or seasons for coming to meet man or come into the midst of a people Gen. 3:8. This is what is known as revival, and anytime God visits an individual or a people, it culminates in strange change of story for the people Psa. 65:9-10. But it is vital that we know when God visits in order not to miss this visitation.

An understanding of the time and season of life, particularly to know the time appointed for our visitation, is crucial to make success in life Lk. 19:41-44. There are indicators to help us know a time of God’s visitation and this is what we have being studying.

Understanding what a revival really is.

  1. A revival is when multitudes begin to flow into the church Mk. 4:1-2; Acts 4:4; 5:14.

The church is God’s dwelling place and the manifestation of His presence. The church therefore becomes the place where men will rushing towards to experience God in the time of His visitation.

  • A revival is when there is an outbreak of signs, wonders and diverse miracles among the people Acts 8:5-8; 9:32-35; Lk. 6:19.

Scriptures make us to understand that where God’s presence is made manifest, the supernatural become the order of the day. We have said revival is the visitation or manifestation of God in the midst of His people; therefore, it will be characterized by signs, wonders and miracles.

What is one to do to in such a moment in order to maximize the season? We understand that prater is the demand to birth and sustain a revival Acts. 2:1-2; 6:4,7. Therefore, we must remain committed on the prayer altar; praying for the outpouring of the Spirit of God to keep drafting in the multitudes into the church and turning our churches into centers of signs and winders Acts 4:30-33.

Jesus is Lord!

Prayer.

Father in the name of Jesus, I receive a fresh outpouring of the Spirit of grace and supplication to engage tireless on the prayer altar all through this revival Zch. 12:10.

Action.

The prayer investment be continued; focus today’s prayer on demanding for the outpouring of the Holy Spirit on His church and the land.
