Memory verse:
“O LORD, I have heard thy speech, and was afraid: O LORD, revive
thy work in the midst of the years, in the midst of the years make known; in wrath remember mercy.”
- Hab. 3:2.
We are in the midst of the year season, a season of revival as the scripture makes us to understand Hab. 3:2. Every revival is ordained by God for the supernatural change of story men and rise of giants Hab. 3:17-19. But in every revival, while some are rising by the revival, some others are crashing by the same revival. Each one will determine his lot, and this by reason of the understanding of each person, which will influence how each one will response in a revival. Only those that will appropriately engage themselves in a revival partake of the blessings that a revival offers.
Now that we know by scriptures that we are in a revival season, it becomes essential for us to gain a good understanding of what a revival really is, and how to maximize the opportunities a revival offers. And this has been our subject of study since this week began, I believe God with what we shall add today this midst of the year shall bring you out as a global personality.
Understanding what a revival really is.
- A revival is when the Spirit of prayer and supplication is poured out on God’s people with testimonies Zch. 10:12; 8:20-23; Rms. 8:26.
When there is a revival, prayer will become the breath of the believer. Even the unbelievers won’t be left out as they seek to relate and talk with God. Everyone will just seem to be eager and chasing after God, this is what results in the unusual love for prayer.
- A revival is when going to church become a way of life for God’s people Psa. 84:1-7; Acts 2:46.
When it is revival time, the church becomes the most attractive place to all people. Everyone becomes delighted to be in church, and the length of time spent there is no longer a concern. God’s presence will be what everyone will be after, thereby making men to always run to and stay in the church.
What is one to do to in such a moment in order to maximize what the season? We must never forget that though we are in a season ordained for revival, but every revival is triggered and sustained by prayer Hab. 3:1-2. Therefore, we must continue to engage the prayer altar; praying for among other things for the outpouring of the Spirit of God upon God’s people that helps the infirmities of men in prayers.
