WE DO NOT BEG FOR A TURNAROUND IN THE KINGDOM PT. 4.

Memory verse:

“Then came to him the mother of Zebedees children with her sons, worshipping him, and desiring a certain thing of him.”

“And he said unto her, What wilt thou? She saith unto him, Grant that

these my two sons may sit, the one on thy right hand, and the other on

 the left, in thy kingdom.”

“But Jesus answered and said, Ye know not what ye ask. Are ye able to

drink of the cup that I shall drink of, and to be baptized with the

baptism that I am baptized with? They say unto him, We are able.”

  • Matt. 20:20-22.

We have two (2) kingdoms simultaneously in existence; the kingdom of darkness or Satan, and the kingdom of light or His dear son Col. 1:13-14. Each kingdom is guided by clear principles, and the principles are in total contrast. Every man belongs to one of the kingdom per time, and it is by choice and practice. Scripture makes us to understand that every man is a member of the kingdom of darkness until new birth, when he experiences a translation into the kingdom of light Jn. 3:3-6; Eph. 2:11-13.

The challenge is that after crossing over, many out of ignorance or choice continue to engage the principle of the kingdom of darkness while now in the kingdom of light. This is why many are yet to experience the fulfillment of the promises of God in their lives. The good news is, God who is the head of the kingdom of light is a principle or covenant keeper Psa. 89:34. And scriptures make it clearly that serving God is at the heart of the principle of the covenant of God’s kingdom Deut. 11:13. In essence, serving God is what makes the difference in the believer’s life and guarantee his total well being Mal. 3:17-18; Psa. 35:27. Again today, we shall take a look into the great things serving God does in a believer’s life.

Exploring the wonders of serving God.

  1. We do not beg to be enthroned, we serve our way to enthronement Matt. 20:20-28.

The mother of James and John made an appeal to Jesus, to make his two sons to be portfolio members of His cabinet. This is the lobbying system of the world and Satan’s kingdom. But Jesus response was revealing, He told her it is not by lobbying in God’s kingdom but by serving sacrificially.

  • We do not cry to prosper, we serve our way into growing prosperity Job 36:11; Psa. 35:27; Mal. 3:17-18.

Prosperity is a product of service in God’s kingdom. God’s plan of prosperity for the believer does not answer to prayer, fasting, and just confession. It is by the practice of the covenant, which is rooted in service. Many give with the motive of getting money not serving God, it is why there giving has not produced prosperity in their lives. But when service is the foundation, giving becomes a prosperity wand.

Here this, no one serves God and the interest of His kingdom and suffer decrease. This is because God is not looking for who to rob, He is looking for who tot enrich Lk. 5:1-8; Job 36:11.
