“But Jesus answered and said, Ye know not what ye ask. Are ye able to drink of the cup that I shall drink of, and to be baptized with the baptism that I am baptized with? They say unto him, We are able.”

God’s kingdom to which we belong is a kingdom of great promises and provisions 2Pet. 1:3-4; Jn. 10:10. Being born again is fundamental to enjoy these provisions, but it is not automatic. This is because God’s kingdom operates by covenant, which means there are conditions to everything in the kingdom Deu. 28:1-2; Psa. 89:34. In essence, every provision of redemption is available to all, but only those who will meet the conditions attached that can experience it Mat. 20:20-22; Jms. 1:22-25. We don’t need to beg for any of the provisions and promises from God, we only need to meet up with the demands and they become actualized without fail.

The Provisions of the kingdom and conditions to experience them.

1. Blessing.

The blessing of God is one of the great provisions in the kingdom Gal. 3:13-14; Rev. 5:12. It is man’s requirement for a successful life on the earth Gen. 1:27-28. When a life lacks it nothing works, but when one has it everything works without stress Pro. 10:22. But we do not beg to be blessed, we serve to be blessed Exo. 23:25-26.

• Promotion.

God ordained His children for continuous promotion in life Pro. 4:18. This is irrespective of the opposition, the will of men, environment etc. Also, we do not beg to be promoted; we serve our way into promotion Lk. 19:17-19.

Serving God simply means serving God’s and His kingdom interest Mat. 6:33. God’s interest is the salvation of all men, with the effect of church growth 1Tim. 2:4. Therefore, God is not looking for whom to enslave, rather He is out to enthrone those who will respond to His demands Lk. 22:25-30; Dan. 12:3.

Father in the name of Jesus, empower me afresh by your Spirit for kingdom service as you turn me into an effective and efficient soul winner Acts 1:8.
