Memory verse:   

“And it shall come to pass, if thou shalt hearken diligently unto the voice of the LORD thy God, to observe and to do all his commandments which I command thee this day, that the LORD thy God will set thee on high above all nations of the earth:”

We have the heritage of a blessed life, because we have God the source of all blessing as our Father by redemption through Christ Psa. 5:12; Eph. 1:3. We must understand that our God is not a Father Christmas God, but a covenant keeping God Psa. 89:34. This means that there are responsibilities the believer must embrace to gain access to the provisions of God for his life Deu. 28:1-2. The scriptures make us to understand that serving God is the vital responsibility for accessing these provisions of God for His children Mat. 20:20-22; Psa. 34:10.

Kingdom provisions that we access through serving God.

1. We serve to enjoy honor in life.

Honor is one of the redemptive rights of the believer in Christ Rev. 5:12. When one is honored, his experience and what will be accorded him will surpass his status and level Psa. 8:4-6. But we must that we don’t beg to be honored; we serve our way to honor Jn. 12:24-26. In essence, honor does not come by demanding for it on the prayer altar, but by engaging in service.

• We serve to enjoy breakthrough in the kingdom.

Breakthrough simply means progress despite obvious overwhelming oppositions and obstacles Exo. 14:15. Every life is faced with oppositions, with the mission to stop the individual if allowed 1Cor. 13:10. God ordained His children for breakthrough, to keep making continuous progress in life Pro. 4:18. But we do not beg for it, we serve God and the interest of His kingdom to pave way for our breakthroughs Lk. 5:1-8.

Therefore, the demand of serving God is not to the advantage of God but the believer. For God is not looking for who to stress, He is looking for who to make whole and make great 2Cor. 5:18-20; Pro. 13:7.

Father, in the name of Jesus, I receive grace afresh for renewed service and to remain committed until my turnaround is testified to by all Zch. 4:6-7.

Appraise your service, and step it up to a new level.
