Memory verse:
“My son, give me thine heart, and let thine eyes observe my ways.”
- Pro 23:26.
The scriptures made a strong statement “Seek ye the Lord while He may be found, call ye upon Him while he is near” Isa. 55:6. This goes to say that there are times God can be found, and possibly times you cannot. Revival time is when God is much around, so finding Him is cheap. Only those who seek after God ever find Him Matt. 7:7-8. It is with the heart we seek after God, the heart panting after God and the interest of His kingdom is one that is seeking for God. How passionate a believer is at this defines how much he is seeking after God.
To pant after the interest of God’s kingdom means to be passionate towards men; the salvation of the lost and the well-being of the saints because the soul of man is all that God is interested in on the earth Jn. 3:16. Therefore, a believer cannot have his heart after God and not spend his time for Him. We started studying the lives of men in scriptures who had the testimony of a heart for God, to establish the truth of time usage as a proof of heart for God, and the result of their pursuit after God.
Examples of Kingdom Giants who Engaged their Time for God.
- Job Job 1:1-3,5-9; 29:4-18; 42:10-12.
Job had the testimony of being the greatest man among men of his days. Scriptures show us that the secret of Job was a heart burning with passion for God and everything that pertains to His kingdom. From scriptures, we see Job as a man consistent in his devotion to God, and seeking to attend to the welfare of men. All these place great demand on his time, which shows that one cannot have a heart for God and not have much time for Him and His work. Anything contrary to this is self-deceit. The end result of Job, despite his travail, was double of his former status.
God’s word and principle has universal relevance, and all time potency. If it worked in the days of Job, it will work even now. Therefore, one cannot have time for God, which is the proof of one’s heart panting after God, without making outstanding marks on the earth.
