The scriptures make us to understand that God is the author of marriage, and everything that comes from God is good and perfect Gen. 2:18; Jms. 1:17. Marriage is therefore a good thing! Furthermore, we understand from scriptures that every good thing in life is the entitlement of everyone that is in Christ Psa. 34:10; Mat. 7:11. In essence, God’s will for every of His child is a glorious marital experience, and by this we mean a timely, peaceful, joy-filled and fruitful marital life Gen. 2:17-18. The question is, why do we have many believers with a contrary experience to this design of God for their lives? The simple answer is ignorance of what it takes to experience it Hos. 4:6; Isa. 5:13. What you don’t know, you don’t know. What you don’t know, you must learn. And what you don’t learn, you will suffer for it.
Covenant Demands to Actualize our Glorious Marital Destiny.
- Be saved and remain so.
Salvation is the access to God’s kingdom, and all the blessing that the kingdom has to offer man Jn. 3:3-5. Many are near God’s kingdom but are yet to enter into it, this is why they keep struggling for the things of the kingdom Mk. 12:34.
- Seek for light from the word for desired marital breakthrough.
It is by the light of God’s word that we walk out of the challenges of life Job 29:3; Jn. 11:9-11. Therefore, everyone going through any marital challenge should take advantage of the materials of anointed men with proofs in marriage; books, recorded messages etc, to seek for the light of God for his escape 2Tim. 2:15; Isa. 60:1-3; Pro. 24:13-14.
- Be committed to walk in the covenant of marriage.
There is God’s covenant that guarantees a glorious marital life for everyone that will comply with the terms or conditions Mal. 2:14. For instance, walking with God makes for timely and right settlement in marriage; wife must submit to their own husband, and husband must love their wife in order to enjoy a peaceful home Psa. 68:6; Eph.5:22-25. Rebellion against the covenant of marriage will keep any marriage under siege for life.
- Be committed to walk in love with God.
When the believer walks in love with God, everything in his life including his marriage will begin to work for his good Rms. 8:28. Love for God means love for what God loves, which is shown with appropriate action Psa. 87:1-2; Psa. 138:2; Jn. 3:16; 1Jn. 3:18.
- Be committed to kingdom advancement endeavors.
When a believer is committed to advancing God’s kingdom as a lifestyle, God becomes committed to every aspect of his life Mat. 6:33. Commitment to kingdom advancement simply means kingdom service, with the aim to see souls saved and established for the growth of the church Exo. 23:25-27.
- Beware of pride
Pride will always lead to a fall and destruction; it ruins whoever is a victim of it Pro. 16:18. Pride will disconnect from grace, leading the victim to disgrace and shame no matter the pedigree, credentials and efforts made Jms. 4:6-7. Pride is simply over estimation of self, which makes the individual to see himself alone, to speak and conduct himself in manners that will eventually lead to breakdown in his life Isa. 14:12-15; Dan. 4:30-31. The solution is to make the decision against pride Deu. 30:19.
- Engage the power of faith
The devil is the principal personality behind every case of marital challenge and breakdown Mat. 13:28; Jn. 10:10. When it is the devil, the answer is the shield of faith; it has the guarantee to silence and stop every assault of Satan and establish the victory of the believer Eph. 6:16; 1Jn. 5:4. But faith is consciously built by individuals through God’s word, so get into the word and build your faith for marital settlement Rms. 10:17.
In conclusion, there is no reason why anyone should be suffering marital delay, unrest, breakdown. God has made the provision for our marital success and glory, we only need to understand what it takes to experience it and be committed to those demands. YOUR DAYS OF PAIN, ACHE, AND WEEPING OVER YOUR MARRIAGE IS OVER TODAY!
