UNDERSTANDING THE POWER OF THANKSGIVING PT. 1.

UNDERSTANDING THE POWER OF THANKSGIVING PT. 1.

Memory verse:

“And one of them, when he saw that he was healed, turned back, and with a loud voice glorified God,”

“And fell down on his face at his feet, giving him thanks: and he was a Samaritan.”

“And Jesus answering said, Were there not ten cleansed? but where are the nine?”

“There are not found that returned to give glory to God, save this stranger.”

“And he said unto him, Arise, go thy way: thy faith hath made thee whole.”

  • Lk.:17:17-19.

The scripture is a book of instruction, which is God’s instruction for a glorious and fulfilling life on the earth Jos. 1:8. Every instruction of scriptures is not for the good of God, but absolutely to the advantage of the believer who will obey 2Tim. 3:16-17; Deu. 28:1-2. One fundamental of these is the instruction of thanksgiving; the scriptures command that the believer gives thanks all the time 1Ths. 5:18; Mal. 2:1-2. What is thanksgiving in the first place? It is acknowledging God’s blessings on our lives Psa.103:1-2; 69:30-32. Being an instruction of scriptures, what are the profits to the believer who obeys it?

The power the believer releases when engaged in thanksgiving.

  1. Understand that God has a plan for His children.

God did not leave His children to grapple through life, rather He has His plan for each one and they are good with the guarantee of a great future Jer. 29:11. God’s plan for His children is unveiled through either prophetic scriptures, or words of prophecy 2Pet. 1:19-20; Deu. 18:21-22. For fulfillment, the believer simply needs the knowledge of God’s plan and an understanding of how to bring it to reality in his life.

  • Thanksgiving moves the hand of God to perform His words.

The scriptures make us to understand that thanksgiving triggers the release of God’s hand, which is essential for the delivery of whatever God has said or planned 1Kgs. 8:15; 1Ths. 5:18; Heb. 10:36. The believer is commanded to always give thanks, in order to experience the fulfillment of God’s plan for his life.
