Scripture states clearly that there is balm in Gilead, which guarantees the healing, health, and wholeness of God’s children (Jer. 8:21-22). One presentation of the balm of Gilead is the anointing oil mystery (Mk. 6:7,13-14; Jms. 5:14-15).
What is in the Anointing Oil that Heals?
In the anointing oil is the person of the Holy Spirit; He is the power dimension of God (1Sam. 16:13; Mic. 3:8; Acts 1:8). This makes the anointing oil a kingdom mystery because, it is the Holy Spirit mysteriously presented to the believer, which makes it the power of God. The significance of these to those who believe includes the following:
- The Healing Power of God.
The power of God guarantees healing of every sickness and disease; this makes the anointing oil the healing power of God (Mk. 6:7.12-13; Jms. 5:14-15).
- The Spirit of the Lord that Destroys Yokes.
The Holy Spirit is the yoke destroyer; it makes all yokes to be destroyed at the instance of the anointing oil (Isa. 10:27).
- The Spirit of the Lord that Sets Free.
Wherever the Holy Spirit is at work, satanic chains are broken to set free the captives (2Cor. 3:17). This is what makes anointing oil a mystery that sets captives free (Lk. 4:18; Isa. 61:1-2).
- The Spirit of the Lord that Exempts from all Evil.
God’s Spirit is a seal that exempts believers from all evil (Eph. 1:13; Eph. 4:30). This makes anointing oil secure exemption over a believer’s life from prevailing evils of the day, including the siege of terminal disease (Psa. 105:13-15).
- The Power of God that Restores.
God’s power guarantees restoration of health and vitality, no matter the situation (Mat. 14:35-36; Lk. 8:40-44). This makes health and vitality of anyone who receives the anointing oil by faith instantly restored (Jer. 30:17).
- The Resurrection Power of God that Restores Life.
Whenever God’s power is at work, dying or dead things receive and are restored back life (Eph. 1:19-20). This is why the anointing oil brings back to life all dying and dead organs of the body (Rms. 8:11).
- The Oil of Joy.
The Holy Spirit is the Spirit of joy; joy empowers for health and with strength (Isa. 61:1-3; Pro. 17:22; Neh. 8:10). This makes anointing oil the oil of joy that secures healthy living (Acts 10:38).
- The Vengeance Power of God that Terminates Wickedness.
The Spirit of God is the power that executes judgment on the wickedness of the wicked (Isa. 61:1-3; 63:4; Jn. 16:8-11; Acts 3:5-10). The anointing oil therefore is the vengeance power of God; it silences wickedness of the wicked against our lives and destiny (Acts 10:38).
- The Mystery of the Fan and the Fire.
The Holy Spirit is presented in scripture as having fan and fire; the fan is to sweep together what was not planted by God, and the fire is to burn those things off (Mat. 4:11-12; 15:13). By this, anointing oil is the mystery of the fan and the fire that destroys every chaff of sickness and disease in the body (Mat. 4:23). This is why we take a shot of the anointing oil, to invoke the mystery of the fan and fire in our body; we have diverse testimonies on this over the years.
Conclusion.
We serve a God who does not change, what He did before, He will do again and again (Mal. 3:6; Ecc. 1:9). Whatever is the sickness, disease, affliction on your body, God who has healed before is committed to heal again as we engage our faith right now (Rms. 4:17).
Salvation Prayer.
To anyone reading this who desires to give their life to Christ, pray this prayer out loud with me from your heart:
“Lord Jesus, I surrender my life to you today. Forgive me my sins; wash me with your blood. I believe you died for me; on the third day you rose again that I may be justified. Right now, I believe that my sins are forgiven; I’m justified by your blood; I’m born-again; I’m saved; I’m a child of God; I’m free from the power of sin to serve the living God. Thank you, Jesus, for receiving me; thank you Jesus for restoring me; thank you Jesus for saving me. Amen!”
Prayer.
- Father, I believe in You and Your power, heal me of every sickness, disease, and set me free from every affliction (Lk. 5:17).
- Father, I believe in the mystery of the anointing oil; cause my healing, health, and wholeness be restored and perfected at the instance of the anointing oil now (Jms. 5:14-15).

Redemption brought believers into the inheritance of God’s family; one of which is fruitfulness (Acts 20:32; Psa. 1:3; 127:3-5). Fruitfulness is vital for every believer for the following reasons among many: God commands it (Gen. 1:28). God frowns at unfruitfulness (Lk. 13:6-9). Fruits define and determine the future (Jn. 15:1-2). Fruitfulness is the heritage of […]
Destiny biblically connotes a pre-determined end or destination for an individual in life. Every child of God is a child of destiny, which means that there is the pre-determined end for every believer on the earth (Eph. 1:11-12). What is the defined end for a believer in life? A Glorious Destiny. Every believer is ordained […]
God’s will for His children is supernatural recovery of all the enemy has destroyed, stolen, and denied his access to in life (1Sam. 30:6-9,17-18). Recovery, among others, includes: time (Eph. 5:16), opportunities (Gen. 12:1; 11:31), redemptive rights, and inheritances in Christ such as health, riches, glory etc. (Rev. 5:12; Jer. 30:17). Interestingly, the Holy Spirit […]
God’s kingdom, to which we belong by redemption, promises life in abundance; one characteristic of this life is all-round rest (Jn. 10:10; Heb. 4:1,9-10). This means that all-round rest is God’s will for every redeemed (Jn. 14:27). Scripture states categorically that God’s kingdom operates on keys; keys here connote revelation for accessing the provisions of […]
