God designed His children for continuous progress in all areas of life Pro. 4:18. God’s leading always takes people forward; His leading never leads backward Exo. 14:15. Following God’s leading is what guarantee progress without end, because it secures the believer against all evil of life Isa. 45:1-3; Psa. 23:4. The challenge with many believers is that they need to be taught how to access God’s guidance, and it is the reason why they are not experiencing divine guidance.

Five Major Ways that God Leads.

  1. Through the voice of God behind the Word Psa. 119:105; Isa. 34:16.
  2. Though the voice of the Holy Spirit Jn. 16:13-14; Acts 8:28-29; 10:19-20.
  3. Through the witness of the Holy Spirit Rms. 8:16; Acts 16:6-7.
  4. Through heavenly vision Acts 9: 6-9; 28:19; 10:11-16.
  5. Through God sent prophets 2Chr. 20:14-17,22-24; Amos 3:7; Lk. 4:25-27.

How to Access Divine Guidance.

There are essentials to receive God’s guidance.

  1. By the witness of the spirit Rms. 8:14-16; Acts 10:19-20; 16:6-7.

The witness of the Holy Spirit is a deep-sited conviction on the inside of the believer concerning an issue. To receive this witness, it demands that the believer is watchful or on the alert. This is because it is not a voice to hear, but a thing to notice or perceive, and it is from within. Therefore, there is he demand on the believer to be much watchful and sensitive to pick it.

  • Through prayer of enquiry Jer. 33:3; Psa. 32:7-8; 2Sam. 5:18-22.

We serve a question-answering God. He takes delight in revealing things in the dark to His children. But the believer has the responsibility to invoke God to reveal those things by asking questions. The believer who will ask questions is guaranteed to receive the appropriate answer from God Matt. 7:7-8; Lk. 11:9-10. There is no question that is too small to ask God, so ask Him on everything and anything.

  • Through praise and worship 2Kgs. 3:11-16; Isa. 30:29; Acts 13:1-3.

Praise and worship brings a believer into a realm where he is able to hear God’s voice of guidance cheaply. Remember, praise will always bring a believer into the presence of God Psa. 100:3. And at God’s presence, the believer is guaranteed unhindered access to divine guidance Psa. 16:11. In essence, every believer that desires God’s guidance must make praise and worship his lifestyle.

Biblical Proofs of being led by the Holy Spirit.

In essence, what are the evidences of being guided by God.

  1. Supernatural drive Jer. 20:9; Gal. 1:15-17; Php. 1:21.

When it is the Holy Spirit guidance, there will be fire on the inside that keeps pushing the individual in the direction of the leading. When there is no interest to pursue, there is a big question on the source .of the guidance.

  1. Supernatural protection Joel 2:7-8; Exo. 23:20.

Any path God leads He goes before the believer, His angels also are released to go before him Isa. 45:1-3; Psa. 23:4. Every evil on the path of the believer are taken care of by the presence of God that is ahead of the believer, thereby giving guarantee of divine protection as long as the believer is on the path God led.

In conclusion, it is a great risk to go through life without God’s guidance. Going through life following one’s leading or human leading makes a man vulnerable and a cheap victim to the beasts and wolves of life. You shall no longer be a casualty in life.

To anyone reading this that will love to give his/her life to Christ, pray this prayer out loud with me from your heart: “Lord Jesus, I surrender my life to you today. Forgive me my sins; wash me with your blood. I believe you died for me, on the third day you rose again that I may be justified. Right now, I believe that my sins are forgiven; I’m justified by your blood; I’m born-again; I’m saved; I’m a child of God; I’m free from the power of sin to serve the living God. Thank you Jesus for receiving me; thank you Jesus for restoring me; thank you Jesus for saving me.”

Prayer.

Father in the name of Jesus, give me ears that hear your voice of guidance, eyes that see your way clearly, and the heart that receives instruction, thereby making me to walk in your path for my life from today Pro. 20:12.
