Memory verse:
“Rejoice in the Lord alway: and again I say, Rejoice.”
“Let your moderation be known unto all men. The Lord is at hand.”
“Be careful for nothing; but in every thing by prayer and supplication with thanksgiving let your requests be made known unto God.”
- Php. 4:4-6.
The believer is commanded by scriptures to give thanks in everything, whether in season or out of season, this is said to be God’s will 1Ths. 5:18. No commandment of scriptures is intended to place undue burden on the believer, rather every scriptural commandment is to position the believer for an enviable life 2Tim. 3:16-17. This understanding will empower the believer for delightsome and prompt obedience to every instruction of scriptures he comes across. Scriptures make us to further understand that giving thanks guarantees the turning of the situation in the life of the believer Psa. 92:1-11.
In essence, when a believer is experiencing unpleasant situation, thanksgiving will turn everything into pleasant ones. It is therefore possible to live without recording a loss in life again, not because challenges and oppositions do not come but because one has the key to turn them into stepping stones to greater heights. And this is simply by the lifestyle of thanksgiving. I can see a new dawn in your life as you give heed to this instruction from today.
The Power of Thanksgiving in Turning Concerns to Testimonies.
- The miracle of raising Lazarus from the dead Jn. 11:30-44.
Lazarus a friend of Jesus was sick unto death, his sisters sent for Jesus to come and heal him. Somewhere Jesus had a delay of days before getting there, and by then Lazarus was already dead and buried four days. This means his body has started decomposing and stinking, a case that humanly will be said to be closed and over. But Jesus requested to be taking to the tomb, and He gave thanks after which He called Lazarus to come forth. And Lazarus rose from the dead. Thanksgiving reversed death to life!
- Thanksgiving releases fresh anointing that destroys yokes Psa. 92:1-2,10-11.
One vital thing among others that happen in thanksgiving is the release of fresh anointing. The anointing is the answer to yokes in life, and it takes fresh anointing to break new yokes. In essence, the believer can live a yoke-free life by a thanksgiving lifestyle.
In concluding this interesting subject for this week, I will say that the choice thank God in all things is the wisdom to experience a life that will be free of concern forever.
