Life is all about the choices individuals make, and our choice in turn makes the experience each one will have eventually Deut. 30:19. Everyone is confronted with challenges, obstacles, and mountains, but it is the choice of each one that will determine what becomes of him not the size or enormity of the challenge Isa. 43:2-3. When many are faced with challenges they become despair, angry with everyone including God because they can’t understand why they will be the one to face such overwhelming troubles 1Sam. 30:6.

The scriptures has a prescription for the believer on how to handle challenges, it is to celebrate God in the adversity 1Ths. 5:18. In the word of God’s servant, Bishop David Oyedepo, ‘When you don’t know what to do, thanksgiving and praise is what you should do’. Scriptural records has it that every time God’s people resort to thanksgiving and praise, and remain steadfast in it, there is always sudden breakthrough Acts. 16:25-26.

The Power of Thanksgiving in Turning Concerns to Testimonies.

1. The example of the Israelite at the wall of Jericho Jos. 6:1-20.

The Israelite have been journeying from Egypt to their land of promise for about 40 years. Just at the brink of stepping into the much anticipated Promised Land, Jericho became an issue. Jericho was the last city to cross for them to step into the Promised Land, but it was a city with a wall so massive and strong that it is near impossible to breakthrough it with whatever weaponry. By divine instruction, they were to simply make a loud shout, which indicate praise after they had marched round the wall for seven days. At the sound of their shout, the entire wall came down, and they took over the city by a walk-over.

• Thanksgiving is God’s way out of every impossible situation Psa. 100:4; 16:11.

Scriptures make us to know that thanksgiving and praise will always usher the believer into God’s presence. And in God’s presence, the believer’s eyes of understanding are opened to locate the way out, forward, and upward in whatever situation one has found himself. The truth is that no matter the situation, there is the way out 1Cor. 13:10. It is the inability to see it that makes believers to become stranded in life. When we learn to run into God’s presence, we will always locate the way and keep commanding strange result.

I conclude our study today this way, you can walk out of whatever seems to be a concern to you now. This is simply by turning to thanksgiving and praise, keep at it until the way out is made clear to you.

Father in the name of Jesus, I make the choice for thanksgiving as a lifestyle from today, empower me by your Spirit to remain steadfast at it Deut. 30:19.
