We understand from scriptures that love for God is a commandment of God to the believer Deu. 6:5. Love for God is clearly presented in the scriptures as the first and great commandment Mat. 22:37-38. Also, it is the sum total of all commandments, which means when the love commandment is obeyed indeed by a believer, he would have inherently obeyed every other commandment of God Mat. 22:40. Remember, God’s commandments are essentially for the good and profitable living of the believer Deu. 28:1. The scriptures make us to understand that love for God turns a believer into a highflyer, pacesetter and trailblazer 1Cor. 2:9. Love for God is not in words, true love for God is in what we do 1Jn. 3:18.
