Memory verse:   

“And out of them shall proceed thanksgiving and the voice of them

 that make merry: and I will multiply them, and they shall not be

 few; I will also glorify them, and they shall not be small.”

• Jer. 30:19.

The church refers to the people of God, not the building Acts 12:5; Rms. 16:5; 1Cor. 16:19. Church growth therefore is not really about having a bigger building, it is about the increase of the people in number and status. God the creator of man has the sole right of influence on man Pro. 21:1; Matt. 6:27. In essence, to influence men for Christ and bring growth to the church, we must move God to work. Thanksgiving is how to move God thereby bringing growth to the church Jer. 30:19; Acts 2:47.

Scriptures make us to understand that whatever God can make happen is what will answer to thanksgiving and praise. God has the capacity to build His church, this is why thanksgiving and praise will always trigger the supernatural growth of the church.

The Power of Thanksgiving for the Growth of the Church.

1. Thanksgiving commits God to take over the nation.

Our God is the nation taking God 1Kgs. 18:36-39; Exo. 12:41-42. God’s will is that He is the governor of nations; in essence, nations to be under the authority of God Psa. 22:28. When we engage in thanksgiving, we move God to take over nations unto Himself.

• Thanksgiving moves God to make everything work for the growth of the church.

Everything about the growth of the church is centered on God Psa. 127:1-2. In thanksgiving, we please God to make available all He knows will lead to the supernatural growth of the church; favor, signs and wonders, the word, etc.

• Thanksgiving makes the earth to supernaturally bring forth.

There is the mystery of the earth in helping the church to overcome opposition against her Rev. 12:16. In thanksgiving, the earth is stirred and silences the oppositions, which will result in the supernatural fruitfulness of the church Psa. 67:5-7.

Remember, the church of Christ on the earth is ordained for supernatural growth. We only need to engage the relevant force of the Spirit to experience the growth that has been prepared for the church already. Therefore, any church that will dare to believe for growth, and engage the force of thanksgiving and praise is sure to come forth with supernatural dimension of growth.

Prayer.

Father in the name of Jesus, pour upon us the oil of joy and gladness like never before thereby empower us for new level of thanksgiving from today Psa. 45:7.

All through today, thank God for the individuals that have been saved, both in our outreaches and at the altar in the church since the year began.
