Memory verse:   

“And out of them shall proceed thanksgiving and the voice of them

 that make merry: and I will multiply them, and they shall not be

 few; I will also glorify them, and they shall not be small.”

• Jer. 30:19.

The church of Christ on the earth is ordained for supernatural growth Matt. 16:18. Also, the church of Christ is designed for unhindered and unstoppable growth Deut. 2:36. Some may be asking, why these crave for church growth? It’s simply because church growth is the God’s will for His church Matt. 16:18. Therefore, the pursuit after the growth of the church is giving ourselves to what God delights in, and aligning with God’s will. To be aligned to the will of God is a fundamental requirement for a glorious kingdom life 1Pet. 3:13.

Though church growth is God’s will, but we must understand that the growth of the church is not by the energy of man 1Sam. 2:9. Only God has the capacity to build His church and make it to grow Psa. 127:1-2; Heb. 13:4. But God does nothing on the earth except what the believer commits Him to do Phile. 1:14. We have established from scriptures that thanksgiving and praise are guaranteed and cheap way to move God to build His church Jer. 30:19.

The Power of Thanksgiving for the Growth of the Church.

1. Thanksgiving commits God to take over the city.

Our God is the city taking God Acts 13:44; Deut. 2:36. When we engage in thanksgiving, we move Him to do all that He can do, and taking city over for His name is one of such things God delight in doing.

• Thanksgiving invoke God to do signs and wonders Exo. 15:11.

Signs and wonders are effective tool in gathering multitude into the church Acts 8:5-8; 9:34-35. Signs and wonders are cheap ways of making people to believe, thereby making the decision for Christ Jn. 4:48.

• Thanksgiving is the mystery for multiplication.

Thanksgiving is a ‘spiritual yeast’, anything the believer applies it on is bound to multiply Jn. 6:6-11. In essence, when the church engage in thanking God continuously for the few number she has, the number will multiply Jer. 30:19.

The truth is that God ordained the church for supernatural growth, but many churches don’t experience growth because they lack the understanding of the way to it Eccl. 10:15. Any church that will give herself to the mystery of thanksgiving is guaranteed supernatural order of growth, which nothing can stop. I see this church grow like we have never experienced in the time past!

Prayer.

Father in the name of Jesus, pour upon us the oil of joy and gladness like never before thereby empower us for new level of thanksgiving from today Psa. 45:7.

Action.

Thank God for every single person that God has drawn to this assembly, saved and caused to be established in the faith and this church thus far.
