Memory verse:
“And out of them shall proceed thanksgiving and the voice of them that make merry: and I will multiply them, and they shall not be few; I will also glorify them, and they shall not be small.”
- Jer. 30:19.
God’s will is the supernatural and continuous growth of the church Mat. 16:18; Lk. 12:32. Church growth is all about more men getting saved and making a commitment to the life of Christ Acts 2:41. When the church is experiencing growth, believers that are engaged in the growth in return are glorified by God Jer. 30:19-21. This is why every believer is to be passionate and committed to church growth. What do we do to keep the church growing? The lack of scriptural right answer to this question is why many churches are engaged in futile effort for growth Eccl. 10:15. Thanksgiving is the covenant tool to keep the church growing Acts 2:47; Psa. 28:5. In essence, every church that desires continuous growth must be given to thanksgiving as a way of life.
Scriptural understanding that will sustain believers in thanksgiving for growth.
- Understand that our God is the God of increase.
Only God can bring increase, not just the effort of man 1Cor. 3:6. It means, when we labor, we need God’s input to experience increase. Thanksgiving is the way to invoke God for input in our affairs, resulting in supernatural growth Jer. 30:19.
- Understand that supernatural church growth requires the ministry of angels.
Angels are spirit beings who excel in strength Heb. 1:13-14; Psa. 103:20. We have a class of them known as ‘reaper angels’, specifically for harvest of souls into God’s kingdom Mat. 13:39; Rev. 14:14-16. Angels invade every atmosphere where God is celebrated Lk. 2:13. This means, thanksgiving invokes angels to work, resulting in supernatural growth of the church.
- Thanksgiving and praise levels out invisible barriers against church growth.
The growth of the church is against the forces of darkness Lk. 11:21-22. In essence, until they are leveled out the church will never growth. Thanksgiving and praise invoke the power of God that clear out all of these barriers for the growth of the church 2Chr. 20:22-24.
Every church that will keep experiencing growth against the forces of darkness must adopt thanksgiving and praise as a way of life.
