Memory verse:
“And out of them shall proceed thanksgiving and the voice of them
that make merry: and I will multiply them, and they shall not be
few; I will also glorify them, and they shall not be small.”
- Jer. 30:19.
Church growth is the will of God Matt. 16:18. This understanding is vital in order for us as believers to maximize the abundant life redemption offers. The will of God simply means the position of God as it touches on an issue. And God’s position is the perfect on any issue of life Deut. 32:4. In essence, when we take the same position with God we walk in perfection and are guaranteed the best result concerning the issue. Therefore, a decision to be committed for life to church growth is taking a position that is perfect and will bring us the best of experiences in life.
Scriptures make us to understand that only God has the capacity to build His church 1Cor. 3:6; Psa. 127:1-2. Therefore, it is not enough to make the decision for church growth, we must understand how to move God to work in bringing increase to His church. The bible shows us various ways we can do this, but the cheapest of them is thanksgiving and praise Jer. 30:19. This is why our subject for exploration this week is the power of thanksgiving that makes for the growth of the church. I see your life experiencing the best from now as you commit to church growth as a lifestyle.
The Power of Thanksgiving for the Growth of the Church.
- Thanksgiving commits God to add multitude to His church Acts 2:47; 5:14.
Our God is the God of additions. As we engage in thanking Him for His church we move Him to keep adding more souls, particularly disciples, bringing growth to the church.
- Thanksgiving commits God to send the Holy Spirit, the Lord of harvest on His church Matt. 9:37-38.
The Holy Spirit is the one that works to gather the harvest of men into the church, and He only works where and when the Father sends Him. When we engage in thanksgiving concerning the church, we move God to send the Holy Spirit on His church, the result will be supernatural growth of the church.
- Thanksgiving commits God to destroy the gates of hell against the continuous growth of the church Matt. 16:18; Acts 16:25-30.
The church that will grow must have the gates of hell against her growth destroyed. When we engage in thanksgiving over the church, God is moved to clear off all gates standing against His church, resulting in the supernatural church growth.
The truth is that every church has the capacity to grow and become a city without walls Zch. 2:4. God is willing to make this happen, but He cannot until we move Him to work. Therefore, let’s move God to work with our thanksgiving, and we shall see this assembly begin to scale new heights.
