The scriptures make is clear that every man is serving one thing; it is either God or mammon Mat. 6:24. When a believer makes the choice to serve God by engaging in activities that promote His kingdom and church growth, it is referred to as spiritual stewardship Acts 6;4,7. Remember, every labor a man engages in is with profits Pro. 14:23. The scriptures have it that the labor into spiritual stewardship has the profit and reward that is unmatchable by any other 1Tim. 4:7-8; Exo. 23:25-27. It is the only labor an individual will engage in and all other things of life will answer to him in return, with rewards in the life after the earth Mat. 6:33; 2Tim. 4:7-8.

The Various Ways of Engaging in Spiritual Stewardship.

1. Looking after the wellbeing of others.

Redemption brings a believer into the family of God, with God as the Father over everyone in this family Eph. 2:10. The scriptures say categorically that a father has the responsibility of providing for his household 1Tim. 5:8. In essence, God has the responsibility of providing for all that are members of His household. Any good done to members of God’s household is serving God therefore. Also, every unsaved man is a member of God’s household who has gone off like the prodigal son Lk. 15:11-18. Whatever good that is done to such is also taken as serving God. This is why the scriptures instruct that we should do good to all men, but particularly to the members of the household of faith Gal. 6:2,10; Mat. 25:31-40. The following are some of the rewards when we do:

1. It eradicates lack in the believer’s life Pro. 19:17; 28:20.
2. It secures the wellbeing of the believer that does it Psa. 41:1-3; Eph. 6:8.
