SPIRITUAL STEWARDSHIP PAYS THE MOST PT. 3.

Memory verse:

“Not slothful in business; fervent in spirit; serving the Lord;”

“Rejoicing in hope; patient in tribulation; continuing instant in prayer;”

  • Rms. 12:11-12.

Jesus’ parents took him for the feast at Jerusalem when He was twelve, but Jesus stayed back at Jerusalem in the temple. After three days of searching, the parents found Him in the temple among the teachers of the law hearing and asking questions Lk. 2:46. When they angrily asked why Jesus did such, He responded that He was simply about His Father’s business Lk. 2:49. In essence, Jesus identified the pursuit of God and the affairs of His kingdom as a business. A business is any activity that an individual engages in that makes him a contributor to life and in return delivers profit to his life. Therefore, the pursuit after God and the advancement of His kingdom is not mere religious activity, or hobby for spiritual freaks, but a business that makes the believer a notable contributor to life and delivers unmatchable profits Exo. 23:25; Job 36:11.

Scriptures show us that there are various forms of kingdom service, and they deliver profits at varying levels. But the most profitable is spiritual service. We have focused our teachings this week on ways of engaging in spiritual service. I believe that today’s teaching shall release light afresh on your life.

Different Ways of Engaging in Spiritual Stewardship.

  1. Praying for the needs of members.

Scriptures recognizes prayer as one way we engage in spiritual service in the kingdom; Prophetess Anna is an example Lk. 2:37-38. One way we service God and His kingdom in prayer is by praying for others in need Gal. 6:2; Rms. 15:1. Praying for others turns their challenges to testimonies, which makes them to abide in the faith and attract others to Christ and the church Php. 1:19; Zch. 8:23; Psa. 23:6. In essence, when we pray for others we are making their desire to happen for them. Scriptures make us to understand that what we make happen for others, we have invoke God to make happen for in our life Eph. 6:8; Job 42:10. Often, when God makes it to happen for us, it is in multiplied fold. Therefore, it is great wisdom to engage in praying for the need of others.
