Memory verse:   

“But refuse profane and old wives’ fables, and exercise thyself

 rather unto godliness.” 

“For bodily exercise profiteth little: but godliness is profitable unto

 all things, having promise of the life that now is, and of that which

 is to come.”

• 1Tim. 4:7-8.

The scriptures make us to understand that every labor we engage in has the profit we stand to enjoy Pro. 14:23. In essence, there is nothing that we do without what to gain from it. Therefore, every time we work or labor for God, we are not been used by Him rather we have made an investment that entitle us for profit in return. And in life the return to enjoy from one’s labor is a function of the ‘weight’ of the person one has worked for. Imagine being engaged by God for a task, the profit to enjoy? Therefore, serving God is not mere religious activity; it is big time profitable venture Exo. 23:25-26. Jesus referred to it as business, showing it is a highly profitable engagement. The business understanding about serving God has to be revived in the church of today, to bring believers into the profit that goes with it. Out of the various ways of serving God, scriptures make us to understand that spiritual stewardship is most rewarding 1Tim. 4:8.

Channels of Spiritual Stewardship.

1. Bringing people to church.

The church in this context refers to the coming together of believers in a location to worship God. Wherever this takes place, God makes His presence manifest in their midst Mat. 18:20. When we bring any unsaved into such a gathering, we have given the person the privilege of meeting with Christ, with the end-result of making a commitment of his life to Christ. Therefore, bringing people to the church is one strong way to serve God’s interest of getting the lost reconciled back to God on the earth Lk. 14:16-23; Jn. 10:16. The advantage of this is that one may not have what it takes to preach, but there is none that cannot invite people to meet with Christ in the church Jn. 1:41-46. And the reward is same both for soul winning and invitation to church.

Therefore, one is not wasting his time serving the Lord, rather one is investing into the future with the guarantee of great profit into one’s life Mal. 3:17-18; Rms. 13:10.

Set up goals for yourself or team on souls to be won for the month, and develop a plan to reach your goal.
