Memory verse:

“For bodily exercise profiteth little: but godliness is profitable unto

 all things, having promise of the life that now is, and of that which

 is to come.”

The scriptures make us to understand that serving God is not just a mere religious activity, hubby, or interest. Serving God is a big-time business! Jesus the author and finisher of our faith referred to and practiced it as a business Lk. 2:49; Rms. 12:11-12.  A business simply is any activity engaged-in with the intention of profit making. In essence, no one engages in serving God and return with empty hand; rather serving God will always deliver profit. In business, how ‘big’ the one you do business with will define the level of profit to make. Doing business with the ‘almighty’ therefore has no match of profit on the earth. The scriptures also shows that there are different levels of doing this business of serving God, but the most profitable is engaging spiritually, which is called spiritual stewardship 1Tim. 4:8.

Channels of Spiritual Stewardship.

1. Soul winning.

Soul winning is simply about going to the unsaved and getting them reconciled back to God by making a commitment of their lives to Jesus Christ as their savior and Lord Jn. 15:16; 2Cor. 5:17-19. The scriptures make us to understand that this is a spiritual goldmine. How? Scriptures emphatically say that the soul of man is of greater worth than the whole of the universe put together Mat. 16:26. Therefore, when a soul is won for God, the believer in exchange is entitled to anything he desires on the earth with crowns and stars in eternity Dan. 12:3; Pro. 3:35; 11:30. The good news is that every believer is ordained a soul winner, and the Holy Spirit is ordained to empower the believer for effectiveness at soul winning Jn. 15:16; Acts 1:8.

Just like in any business, one is rewarded for results obtained and not efforts made Dan. 12:3. So also in the business of soul winning, the number of souls won and established in the faith and church is what counts. Therefore, get on the field, get souls into the kingdom, and enjoy your profits.
