Memory verse:

“But seek ye first the kingdom of God, and his righteousness; and all these things shall be added unto you.”

  • Mat. 6:33.

Until serving God becomes a business to a believer, it will not deliver maximally in his life Rms. 12:11. Jesus introduced serving God as a business with unmatchable dividend Lk. 2:49; Exo. 23:25-26. Service is a guaranteed kingdom platform for access to God’s blessing, but the believer’s approach ultimately will determine the profits that accrue to him Heb. 12:28. The fundamental approach that will make serving God the highly profitable engagement it is ordained to be is business approach Rms. 12:11. Serving God has the power to turn giants out of any ordinary individual, which is the believer’s birthright by reason of redemption Mat. 5:13-14; Psa. 89:20-24; 2Sam. 18:3.

The different ways of serving God.

  1. Praying for the needs of members.

One way to serve God and the interest of the kingdom is praying for the need of those that are challenged in the church Lk. 2:37; 1Ths. 3:10. Service entails being selfless; one underlying challenge of believers who are not committed to service is selfishness. They are more concerned about their self and needs. Praying for the needs of others does not mean that the believer no longer has personal needs, but he chooses to look away from them to take up other people’s needs in prayer. When we pray for others, their challenges are turned to testimonies Php. 1:19; Gen. 20:17. This enhances their establishment in God and the church, as well as attracts many more to church Zch. 8:23. The amazing blessing of this form of serving God is that, what one make to happen for others through prayer is what God will make happen in greater dimension in one’s life Eph. 6:8; Job 42:10.
