Memory verse:
“But refuse profane and old wives’ fables, and exercise thyself rather unto godliness.”
“For bodily exercise profiteth little: but godliness is profitable unto all things, having promise of the life that now is, and of that which is to come” 1Tim. 4:7-8.
The scriptures make it clear that serving God and the interest of His kingdom is the believer’s ticket to the abundant life promised in Christ Jn. 10:10; Job 36:11. Furthermore, the scriptures make us to understand that stewardship can be classified into three; spiritual, financial and in-service stewardship Gal. 6:7-8; 2Cor. 9:6-8; Exo. 23:25-26. The three forms of serving God deliver great rewards, but there is no comparing the returns on spiritual stewardship to other forms 1Tim. 4:8.
What are the various ways of engaging in spiritual stewardship?
- Engaging in soul winning.
Soul winning is spiritual stewardship because the service we deliver, which is the soul of men, is spirit in nature Jn. 3:6. We understand from scriptures that the rewards for winning one soul is unmatchable Mat. 26:16. Check out the good news about soul winning:
i) Every believer is ordained a soul winner; no believer is exempted from the great reward in soul winning 15:16; Ezk. 36:37; Psa. 2:8.
ii) Every believer is empowered by the Holy Spirit for supernatural soul winning. The baptism with the Holy Spirit essentially is to turn a mere believer into an effective witness of Christ Acts 1:8; Lk. 9:1-4.
Every believer therefore must see soul winning as core spiritual stewardship Lk. 15:7; 1Tim. 2:4.
