SERVING GOD IS EVERY BELIEVER’S COVENANT RESPONSIBILITY PT. 1.

Memory verse:

“And they entered into a covenant to seek the LORD God of their

fathers with all their heart and with all their soul;”

“That whosoever would not seek the LORD God of Israel should be

put to death, whether small or great, whether man or woman.”

“And they sware unto the LORD with a loud voice, and with shouting,

and with trumpets, and with cornets.”

“And all Judah rejoiced at the oath: for they had sworn with all their

heart, and sught him with their whole desire; and he was found of them:

and the LORD gave them rest round about.”

  • 2Chr. 15:12-15.

God’s kingdom to which we now belong as believers is a kingdom of blessings that goes with responsibility Deut. 28:1-2. Scriptures show us that the core demand to access the blessing of the kingdom is being a servant of God Exo. 23:25. In essence, every believer that desires the blessing of God that makes life rich and deliver from sorrow must accept the responsibility of being a servant of God.

Who is a servant of God therefore? It is anyone serving God and the interest of His kingdom on the earth is a servant of God Rms. 6:16. The age, gender, societal status, educational level, tribe and church ordination is irrelevant. Therefore, serving God is neither a calling nor a gift, rather it is a choice each one makes and validates with appropriate action Jos. 24:15; 2Chr. 215:12-15. Our teachings this week will be a study on scriptural personalities who were approved as servants of God to establish the truth that one does not need to be ordained or given a title to become a servant of God. Expect great encounters in God’s word as we study together on this subject.

Scriptural Examples of Servants of God who had no Church title or Ordination.

  1. Abraham.

Abraham was recognized in scriptures as a servant of God, God called him as such Psa. 105:24. But we saw Abraham as a business emperor who was into animal husbandry and ranching Gen. 13:1-5. How did Abraham become recognized a servant of God; it is by his pursuit after God and his interest in the things of God’s kingdom, which he demonstrated in a life of prayer for the salvation of men from God’s destruction Gen. 14:14-20. By serving God, Abraham rose from someone with no identity into a trans-generational personality Gen. 22:16-18.

Therefore, you are not wasting your time and resources serving God, rather it is your covenant platform to the world of blessings that will turn you into greatness and envy in life Exo. 23:25; Pro. 10:22.
