Memory verse:

“If they obey and serve him, they shall spend their days in prosperity, and their years in pleasures.”

  • Job 36:11.

The scriptures make us to understand that life on the earth operates by principles and rules Gen. 8:22; Isa. 28:10-13. Principles are foundational and non-negotiable in life, when they are out of place life goes in disarray Psa. 11:3. One of such principle is service; every man is serving one thing or the other Matt. 6:24. The beauty of service is that the servant becomes like who or what he serves Matt. 10:24-25. In essence, serving God gives the believer the platform to become more like God as the believer remain committed. Therefore, serving God is basically for the blessing of the believer, it is an expression of God’s goodness to His children.

What is serving God? It is simply to make commitment to the pursuit of God and the interest of His kingdom. And the scriptures give the assurance that when the believer pursues the interest of God’s kingdom, He becomes entitled to enjoy the supernatural supply of all things of life Matt. 6:33. We have been studying the entitlement of the believer who commits to serving God. Be blessed as we go through the points in today’s study

The blessedness of commitment to serving God.

  1. Serving God guarantees our protection in this wicked world.

We live in a world that is full of wickedness; by wickedness it means the believer does not need to do anything for the wicked to make attempt on his life. The only save place on the earth is where the protective hand of God is at work Psa. 91:1-3. Scriptures make us to understand that serving God secures the hand of God for protection over the life of the believer Dan. 6:20-23; Lk. 10:17-19.

  • Serving God guarantees our supernatural change of level.

Life is designed by God for continuous progress and advancement Pro. 4:18. Life becomes frustrating and a burden when this is not the experience of an individual. God is behind every change and increase in life; serving God invokes God to work in favor of the believer Exo. 4:22-23. Among other things, the result is that all obstacle will give way of their own accord resulting in the advancement of the believer.

Therefore, it is wisdom to make the choice to become committed to serving God and the interest of His kingdom.
