Memory verse:

“If they obey and serve him, they shall spend their days in prosperity, and their years in pleasures.”

  • Job 36:11.

Redemption brought us into the world of blessing; this is because the death and resurrection of Christ among other things is to receive for us the blessing of God Rev. 5:12. Remember, the blessing of God makes life rich and delvers from every sorrow Pro. 10:22. The question therefore is, why do we have believers struggle through life as if they are not blessed? The reason is because God’s kingdom to which we belong operates by laws, and our obedience to the laws is what determines our blessing Deut. 28:1-2; Rms. 8:2-3. God’s laws are the expression of His love to man, they are not to burden the believer but to bless his life.

A vital law to access the blessing of God is that of serving God and the interest of His kingdom Exo. 23:25; Job 36:11. Serving God is not to the benefit of God; this is because whether we serve or not, God remains the same Mal. 3:6; Heb. 13:8. He is I AM THAT I AM, no matter what we do or we don’t Exo. 3:14. Serving God is not just about being busy with activities in the church, rather it is engaging in what brings advancement to God’s kingdom. What are the benefits that answer to the believer when he commits to advancing God’s kingdom? These shall be the focus of our teaching this week, and I see God’s hand come upon you for new level of commitment to kingdom service.

The blessedness of commitment to serving God.

  1. Serving God guarantees supernatural breakthrough.

Breakthrough simply means making unstoppable progress in the face of obvious oppositions and obstacles Exo. 14:15. Serving God commits God to the life of the believer actively, and the outcome of this is that all oppositions give way of their own accord Rms. 8:31; Lk. 5:3-8; Isa. 45:1-2. This is what we call supernatural breakthrough.

  • Serving God guarantees the meeting of all our needs.

The needs of man are not limited only to money or finance; they include other things that money cannot buy. For example, good sleep, long life, health etc. All of these are what serving God is sure to deliver to the believer Exo. 23:25-27; 2Chr. 15:12-15.

Therefore, it is wisdom to make the choice to become committed to serving God and the interest of His kingdom.
