Memory verse:
“And ye shall serve the LORD your God, and he shall bless thy
bread, and thy water; and I will take sickness away from the
midst of thee.”
“There shall nothing cast their young, nor be barren, in thy land:
the number of thy days I will fulfil.”
- Exo. 23:25-26.
Our God is a loving Father who will not deny His children from whatever is good for their lives Psa. 84:11; Pro. 3:27-28. But we must remember that our God is also a God of covenant, and a covenant keeper Psa. 89:34. This means that the demand of God on His children is only the platform to bring the believer into His blessings Deu. 28:1-3. When the believer therefore obeys the commandment of God, he is not doing God a favor, neither is his breaking God’s instruction of any negative effect on God, the church or the brethren. They have effect on the believer’s life absolutely. Therefore, the obedience of serving God is essentially to profit the believer who obeys it, and no other person; not God, the pastor or church Exo. 23:25-26.
The Benefit that Accrue to the Believer in Serving God.
- Serving God guarantees healing and wholeness.
Serving God which is essentially about winning the lost for Christ and getting them established in the faith and the church, makes the believer to be a fruitful kingdom citizen Jn. 15:16. When the believer is fruitful, God is committed to keep him fit in life Jn. 15:1-2; 2Cor. 5:17-20; Pro. 13:17. This means a life of health, vitality and wholeness.
- Serving God empowers the believer to subdue devils under him.
The believer that is on the go for Christ to win the unsaved is entitled for power from God Lk. 9:1; Mat. 28:18-20. The power of God puts the believer in command of every devil, and to crush any that attempt to resist his life Lk. 10:17-19; Rms. 16:20. In essence, serving God by commitment to soul winning makes the believer to subdue every devil on his path in life.
Serving God is a choice every believer has to make Jos. 24:15. The good news is that every believer can make this choice, and it is one choice that makes a great difference in the believer’s life Mal. 3:17-18.
